Ridley meeting with Woods doesn't mean anything, even if Woods was debriefing Ridley on his meetings with PIF in the Bahamas. Ridley and the other three major organizers should be focused on implementing their own qualification systems so that the best players from LIV Golf and the PGA, along with any other tour on the planet, get fair opportunities to win spots in the majors every year. The integrity of the four majors must be preserved, and that can only be done if it's "best-on-best" every year. Talor Gooch should have been allowed to compete at August next weekend, 100%. All four majors should scrap the useless OWGR.

Taylor Goosha is a nobody with a big mouth who has done nothing. Hence he’s sitting home watching. Niemann made an effort on the Asian Tours and won the Australian Open. No one else on LIV is worthy except past champions

Well since you want to speculate maybe Tiger briefed Fred on meeting in Bahamas and said Yasir wants his cake and eat it too. Tiger said no no no, no OWGR points for you and eventually some liv guys fall out of majors like Reed, Phil, Bryson. British Open just changed max age to 55. Phil is 53. Hmmm. Coincidence?
@jaytravtulsa1
@jaytravtulsa1 Ай бұрын
LIV is an exhibition tour. Overall shots gained is well below the PGA or Euro Tour level. I agree with the Niemann take above. LIV guys need to supplement the big free money with actual competitions if they want to be taken seriously. Then, win the majors they get into.

Augusta is probably interested in the whole pga vs liv deal a little bit. But the Masters tournament is their deal and the chairman isn't going to get in the middle of the politics of the Tour. Heck, I wish he would run the Tour and show real leadership for professional golf. It was disappointing that Gooch wasn't invited. But that would've rocked the Tour. I think it would show the commitment to have the best from all corners of the world at the Masters. But based on the number of LIV players, this should be referenced as the super major.

Tiger showed a smidgen of his character on the 18th tee at the Masters when he missed his tee shot and cursed out loud. Self control was his problem. But he certainly was one of the greatest and still would be if it wasn't for that lacking in his life. He has had several times to really come clean and has repeatedly failed at it.

Tiger is asking them to set the course up to favour certain players from the PGA. Augusta is a lefties' course so Tiger wants the course set up so that it suits his game or JT's game. He certainly can't make the cut so I would think its to convince them to set the course up to suit JT's game. I think top 5 are all going to be LIV guys anyways and thats the nail in the coffin for the PGA as any sort of premier league

Tiger and JT are at Augusta on that day for one reason: to prepare for the masters. Not that it matters but imo Tiger and JT probably invited the commissioner to join them. The conversations were probably light but the topic included the recent changes to the course, some great stories, and of course the state of the game. The weather should be good enough for Tiger at Augusta. Imo Tiger has a better chance than JT.
