My name is Jay Swanson - I'm an American writer living in Paris on an artist visa. Paris (yes the one in France) has been my home for years now and I have every intention of staying here for as long as they'll have me. I write science-fiction and fantasy, vlogged daily for 3+ years, and love pizza a little too much. Now I make videos about visiting Paris, traveling in Europe, and try to share what I've learned along the way. I hope you enjoyed what you found.

Ok, is anyone else impressed by the amazing camera angles? I went back and counted 51 different camera shots used for this 8 minute vlog. Those in the subway and distant walking, it's like you never have to go back and get the camera (which you do) You know what I would love to see? an un edited version.. you setting up taht camera.. walking by and talking and then coming back to get it. Jay you must be constantly thinking. "where will i get the best shot" Kudos to not ever every half assing it

I almost hesitate to post this, but, one of our favorite venues for concerts is the Église Saint-Ephrem. You probably already know about it, but, if not, it's a small church so the concerts and recitals have an intimate quality. The personality of the performers really shines through, and the attendance is generally small. We've attended two piano concerts there, both by candlelight, both very memorable. So, if you find yourself in need of some musical inspiration, it's definitely worth a shot.

Hi Jay. I'm a new subscriber. I'm not sure how I found your channel (probably an algorithm since I'm going to Paris in a couple of weeks, and Google knows all), but I'm really enjoying it. I enjoy the personal reflections and introspections, like the idea that everything is "on mute". Subtle changes in inner life are so difficult to describe, but they drive a lot of our moment-to-moment lives, don't they? I think many of these subtle feelings ultimately derive from the body. Like you said -- maybe you just didn't eat enough protein! And then we overthink the crap out of them when we really just need to eat or get more sleep. By the way, I think I'm beginning to notice some gains from all the working out. Good job and keep it up!!

A couple questions: What video editting software do you use? Have you had your thyroid checked? Cause what you were describing sounds like a foggy thyroid. I saw that Two Doors is near Le Barybylone which has now shut down! 8( I once waited during Bastille 2022 on the steps on the road opposite it for it to open and it never did which was annoying as I saw it was one of your recommendations. Shame. Gad to see Beans on Fire is still around though. On that same blistering day an indoors coffee was badly needed, also saw what was probably the most French and hottest woman ever hanging out and doing her work in there....
