Tips for a crochet newbie! Thicker yarn like that = larger hook. There should be a hook size (and needle for knitting) recommendation on every package. If you plan on making a large project that uses 2 or more skeins of yarn, it is best to buy in bulk so that your colors are the same. Just because it says it's the same color doesn't mean it is, the dye lot is what you want to pay attention to if you don't want a slightly off color variation. If you're making something in rows, don't forget to add a stitch when you turn or you'll end up with shrinkage instead of clean edges. Last tip that I can think of, DON'T BE ASHAMED IF YOU HAVE TO FROG YOUR WORK (if you go a bunch of rows and realize you made a mistake and have to pull the yarn undoing all your hard work). It happens to the best of us and sometimes you realize your hook sizing was off or something of that nature. I've been crocheting for over 20 years and I still can't read a pattern or understand most of the lingo and abbreviations, so KZbin videos have been helpful when wanting to try a new stitch. Otherwise I just go until what I'm working on looks like something lol
@Secondhand_Candy
@Secondhand_Candy Жыл бұрын
Yes, definitely larger hook size, just from the video i would say 7 or 8mm hook maye bigger, its good to try things out, people crochet with different yarn tension so not everyone uses the same hook for the same yarn. If you dont like something frog it, the things i dont like wil, most of the times, stay unfinished.

Sourdough baker here 👋🏼 Yes! It can be easier for people with gluten sensitivity or intolerance. After your first rise, you can do a long/slow ferment in the fridge before baking it. Anywhere from 8hr-days. This further breaks down the gluten so your body doesn’t have to!

My first time i had a rough time getting my starter active enough to actually raise a loaf of bread. I added rye flour as part of the feeds and it helped a ton. Also, I keep my starter in the fridge without feeding for long periods of time. Since it was well established it always perks up just fine when i take it out and feed it. I've used instructions from The Perfect Loaf for starter maintenance and recipes and been super successful with them. High(er) Hydration is my favorite so far. Happy baking!

@delyndowns598

@@ck2d I see what you’re saying but you also have to remember, we only see the parts of her life that she wants us to see. She probably focuses more on what SHE is doing because it’s her channel and she is the focus of it. Stephen(Steven?) might be more private and uncomfortable with sharing himself with the public so she could be respecting his feelings. Also, we have heard her say that he is going to build her a sick new computer and he has helped her rig up some cool tech savvy things in her house. We have no idea what the money he is getting back from his deposit on his apartment is going to and even if it only goes to him, so what? It was his apartment and Bea was helping him because they are partners. I’m sure he helps her with just as much stuff that you don’t see. She cooks the meals, he does the dishes. I think we all care about her and just want to see her happy and doing well, but we also have to remember we only see a small glimpse of her life. Just because they moved fast (for some people) doesn’t mean it’s wrong or mean he is out to take advantage of her though. I’m sure you mean well though and just don’t want to see her get hurt. None of us do. But I’m sure she is smart enough to protect herself financially and also to pick a good guy. ❤️

Bea you’re very crafty so will definitely crack crochet. I started it in 2015 and I still love it. KZbin crochet tutorials helped me so much when learning. I also learned to knit too but struggled with holding straight needles because I was so used to holding a crochet hook, 😂 so instead of giving up I found a new tool, short circular knitting and it helped me so much. Crochet is still faster and easier for me than knitting though. If you ever need help, pointers or what crochet channels are best to use I’m happy to help you. Good luck with your new craft Bea, you will smash it. You look so happy lately, it’s lovely to see ❤

I bake with all but about 1tbs of my sourdough starter, then I feed that 1tbs flour and 1/2 tbs water to make a very thick, dry clump, and I throw that in a tiny air tight container in the fridge. The longest I have gone without feeding it is 6 months and it always bounces back within the first day of pulling it out of the fridge and feeding it up. The first day or two I make pikelets with the discard so I’m not using a ton of flour every feeding but also not throwing any away. I have had the same starter for 6 years now with this “method.” So easy and I only have to feed it and mess with it when the urge to bake strikes.

Need some curtain ties? Hook 'em up! A belt? A hat? Earmuffs? Crop top? Sweater? Oh yeah. It's endless. And fast. Good for the almost instant gratification. So if you can avoid those things it's supposed to help with all the PCOS symptoms. I've had some good results but it's SOOO HARD to avoid them 100%

Does anyone know of any other KZbinrs like Bea that I can subscribe to? I’m trying to only watch my favorite vloggers while I’m walking on the treadmill but I can watch Bea’s videos so quickly because I just love her so then I have nothing to watch 😂 . I love how real Bea is and sometimes that’s hard to find. TIA. And thank you Bea for your hard work on these videos! I love them and you! 😊

When you said you were gonna learn crochet I nearly choked on the glazed pecans I was eating. I'm here for that! I love crochet!!

Ah, crochet! Rabbit hole opening Bea. I did exactly what you did and now I have a crooked blanket and pretty nice shawl, both unfinished, in my craft space.😂😊
