You guys talk about budget scope being 600-1200$ and for most it’s more like 100-400$ is budget scope for most so I think you should go over best budget scope for most in that range maybe up to 500$ and then go 500-1000$ scopes then 1000-$$$$ . it would help more people that just hunt and can’t put 1000$ scope on. so for a seasonal person hunting deer elk pronghorn. That will perform excellent in the field. You guys are great listen to all ur podcasts over and over soaking up the knowledge

Another fun video to watch! I hunt bear and moose here in Alaska and I’ve settled on the Leupold vx-6HD 3-18 with a firedot reticle. Great for hunting in the timber and low light performance is fantastic, and I still have the ability to stretch it out a bit if the opportunity arises.

A very important topic, it can get very confusing too, and is very costly if you buy the wrong thing. Also, don't overlook Trijicon. Perhaps you gives want to give them a try and see what you think.

I like the 338 rpm cartridge. But would love to see a 30 rpm and 35 rpm. Faster barrel twist then 1 in 10.

375 RPM would be cool with light copper bullets.

I have definitely gone through the evolution of scopes as I have evolved in my hunting experiences.

Again a group of younger guys talking about shooting elk at 1,000 yards. I'm getting sick and tired of this! Show me your 1,000 yards target practice groups? How often do you practice and where? Tell me the velocity of your chosen bullet... the velocity performance window at range? Oh, you shoot Bergers way out there in your big gun? So how does your bullet perform at 40 yards? You guys are snipers. Fine. But this is all about marketing. You make it sound like the average guy can buy a sniper gun and scope, then harvest elk at 1,000 yards. Shame on you! Most hunters can't hit a target at 300! Did Roy ever shoot elk at 1,000? If one can shoot to say 500 yards, a fancy scope is not needed. I once shot a running bull moose at 400, offhand, with my scope set on 4X! Right through the heart. Truth. There was no time to play with my scope. I say, for the average hunter, a quality 3-9 scope is all that's needed. Even I fell for some of this hype. I built a couple custom rifles and selected fancy dial-up scopes, only to realize later they were a mistake! Too many dials, batteries, bubbles. For my 300 RUM build I ended up with a Trijicon Accupoint 2.5-10X56 Mil Dot. This carbon rifle was built for black bear in big cuts. The scope is bright, sharp and clear. No need for parallax adjustment at 10X. Nothing to dial. After ranging the target and a 300 yard zero, it's so easy to shoot, 500, 600 and 700 ust using the crosshair dots. Not that I would shoot that far at game, but hit milk jugs varifies the dots are on. Easy to run in any ballistics app. For closer shots, 2.5X works perfect. If one expects to shoot say out to 500, then buy a flat shooter... a 300 Weatherby. A 6.5- 300... then zero at 300. Then you really don't need complex scopes. Just get a scope with great glass and quality. Then practice shooting long at milk jugs. If you want to be Chris Kyle, well have at it and have fun.
