Ayu Gusfanz is a female and Ayu Gusfanz (Born Aisyah Eka Wahyu Utami; June 3, 2005) is a Progressive Rock, Indonesian guitarist. From a very young age, Ayu Gusfanz has displayed remarkable melodic and technical musical skills. She has covered the music of a variety of artists including Andy Timmons, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, and Yngwie Malmsteen. Additionally, Ayu has written numerous original instrumental guitar compositions. At the age of 12, Ayu recorded one of her original compositions with keyboardist Derek Sherinian, bassist Andy West, and drummer Van Romaine. Ayu has received critical acclaim and has developed an astute following for her KZbin music videos. She has also appeared on numerous Indonesian television shows. Ayu Gusfanz was born in Bondowoso, a small town in East Java Indonesia. Ayu’s interest in playing guitar began at the age of six years old. She would continually ask her father, Agus Susilo Jabrix, a very accomplished guitarist, for lessons but he would refuse because of her physical size. At first, her father tried to teach her how to play keyboards but Ayu did not like this and continued to ask her father for guitar lessons. At the age of 7, her father finally relented. Her first guitar was an Ibanez Jem copy. Even though this guitar was quite large for her physical stature she was able to develop extraordinary musical skills at an accelerated pace. At the age of eight, she was learning and playing musical compositions by guitar virtuosos Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen, and John Petrucci. At nine years old she recorded a video of herself playing the Andy Timmons tune, ‘Cry For You. Andy Timmons was so impressed that he posted her video on his Facebook page. At 10 years old Ayu was awarded her own guitar product line by internationally acclaimed Indonesian luthier Deddy Bhowox (Dewox Guitars). I love watching her do covers but I feel her originals are amazing and phenomenal, on the next request I will send you a link to an original.

She displays wonderful emotion with her music. As of Feb 2022 Ayu is 16 years old. She's amazing. She amazes me anyway. One of her peer group, a year younger, is the Chinese guitarist Yoyo1212 Guitar. If you want to check her out my favourite is a slightly slower - for Yoyo - Dream Theater song when she was 10. Best of Times. Whilst we're talking about young musicians perhaps you would like to check an unrehearsed get together by Karolina Protsenko in Santa Monica with Allie Sherlock when Allie was in America to talk about a recording deal. My favourite is Allie and Karolina performing Hero together with Karolina's Mum Ella on keyboards. Thanks for your channel. Enjoy it a lot.

Tina has been out of the picture for many years already she’s a has been, no longer playing. Tina never did any of her own songs and Ayu has written, composed, arranged and produced many of her own songs

When Tina was playing she was one of the greats. Ayu, for me, is a match for Tina although Ayu is somewhat younger. I think one of the influences for a listener to any musician playing an instrument is the sound of that instrument. With so many electronic items to manage music particularly I think from the guitar, it's not surprising that different timbres and nuances of music come from different artists. In other words how they set up the instruments and electronics influences whether you enjoy the sound more or less.
