All of the talks with Jockin have been outstanding, and I love the point that in the cave they are playing a “recollection game,” which is a terrible counterfeit of the memory that makes possible beauty and creativity. “The strike of beauty” is so paramount to emphasize, and this talk discussed that brilliantly. Excellent!

Wonderful~ I will need to listen to again to grip most of what you have said; in the meantime, I am considering the value of no rubric ~:-) Have earmarked your courses (some other priorities to clear first)

Hello Johannes and Thomas, difficult honest critique of the educational system and our need for certainty that creates a static ,closed way of being!? Anyway, this was a dialogue that gave me new elements ,angles ,to work with ! Thank you, and have a wonderful Day.

We've had very delimited ideas about what education is about in the usa for a long-time. Like everything else here, it dovetails with wealth and material possessions and actualized in that vein. 'University as theme' park, yes, performative like so much else of our culture, such as holidays and religions, or really more of a status symbol/element vs.an educational paradigm, with the important element of classism and access to networks/clubs/associations, etc.

Regarding the balance of in-person vs. virtual, intimate vs. international; as our world further shrinks and digitizes, we maintain a balance and optionality for each version. As well as balance between accredited institutions/programs, open access learning/curriculum, and autodidact achievements who meet general performance or interview criteria, etc. Some of these are specifically career/technical focus, while others are life-long learning/knowledge/culture based, and the fomenting and reiteration of ideas and possibilities of human systems and societies.

And as well, monetized like other essential goods, like water, which as an essential good should be provided freely or at low cost to the populace due to it's intrinsic benefits for a healthy society and individuals. Education as well should be easily accessed and publicly open, albeit sorted based on qualifications and achievements to access certain levels and institutions; but in that based on merit and ability, not economic positioning and monetized burden.
