Hi, I created a Pipeline in the same way as in this video and chose the option "Overwrite", however, everytime my pipeline runs, the data gets appended in the lakehouse table. Is this a bug that still needs to be solved? If not, could you please do a video for the Overwrite vs Append for On-Premises with an example?

Hello Patrick, I can see a folder (file) option in the data source of copy activity in Data pipeline. Are we able now to copy files form local machines one a data gateway connection of folder type is established? Will the files mentioned in that data source be unstructured or only structured semi structured? Thanks

From Fabric can i build views/generate Power BI Report on top of On Prem Data without really bringing in the data into LakeHouse or OneLake ? Or bringing the data into Lake House or Onelake is necessary to build Self Serviceable Power BI report on the On Prem data

Then you are not taking advantage of Direct Lake mode introduced in MS Fabric. Bring the data in from your sources either in Lakehouse or Data Warehouse and build the Semantic Model on top of it.

Q: Hey Patrick, it’s great to see that we can do this via pipelines and dataflows with on prem but I’m having a difficult time figuring out how to get data from an onprem environment to a spark notebook. Is this possible in the current state of fabric or can we only use data flows and pipelines for this currently?

It has a very annoying but that is not resolved for a month. It adds time by on prem timezone, so all timestamps are incorrect. Be aware before using

If I have an Analysis Services Cube on-premises. ¿How do I extract that data with the Data Pipeline?

Data shouldn't be extracted from Analysis Services as SSAS is not a extraction tool. Rather bring the data from the source which build the SSAS model,, it would be a better approach.

This has a major bug. When copying to datalake, time zones are converted. This bug is known for about a month and still not resolved. There are at least few posts in MS Community. My issue is: SQL server stores all dates and times in UTC (without time zone information), but our server is not in UTC locale. All copied data is automatically converted to "local" time

My source is SAP HANA (ODBC) .I dont find ODBC in the connection type while i m trying to create connection

SAP Hana database is there and supported in Data Pipelines also. We have done the POC based on the data residing in SAP Hana database.back in June, 2024.

Hi, Patrick. Thanks a lot for the video! I have used text analytics in power query, but it also asks for the gateway. I couldn't find anything suitable among "Connection Type", is there any way to make auto schedule refresh for reports use text analytics?
