I was so infatuated with Johnny Cook when I was a teenager. I got to see him perform once and I was over the moon! He must have been 40 at the time and I was like 14, but I was in LOVE with his voice. This was my absolute favorite of all his songs. Recently the words have been coming back to me and I couldn't even remember his name. Then today someone said something about silver wings and I just decided to try youtube. So stoked! I just cried listening to this.

Johnny died about 10 years ago actually, in the year 2000. His health was probably the main factor in slowing him down, he never left the music ministry entirely I don't believe. What a tremendous talent Johnny was !!

I know that Johnny died about 5 years ago. I wonder what made him leave the music industry? I am just asking. MAybe he seen something that he did not like. Any hear what might have happened to cause him to leave the music industry and a singing career/
