Its interesting to hear a discussion about this. Ive had a side mounted true glow red dot on my pest rifle that i had picked up on a trip to the states some years back. Ive found that on pest control shoots i use it more then the scope for quickness of target acquisition. When walking new permissions, its unfamiliar land, often you'll come across a critter whom wonders out of a hedge line and sees you. They dont offen wait for your lengthy ruger 10/22 to be scoped in so the red dot is a god send. As i look to building a new rifle, i will undoubtedly keep a side mounted red dot on it. For myself its a proven tool, well worth the investment.

The red dot is cracking kit, but personally I'm not a big fan of shooting 'running' targets unless you really need to. Lol... your 4" group goes out of the window, lots of wounding and a few follow ups needed. Each to their own I suppose.

When I was in the army we had a spot scope that was basically a plastic rod within a tube? It wasn’t until actual laser light was brought in that really changed things. I will be looking at this sight but if it’s overpriced then I won’t be bothering as I am perfectly happy with my PAO. Accurate shooting certainly is advantageous if you do it well👍

Certainly liking what the ACRO has to offer. However as I’m a British expat in Estonia I’ll be adding this to a Glock G19 Gen 5 MOS pistol initially. Nice review though 🔥👍

I am wondering if there could be an application for this in Air Gunning, where your Parallax only goes down to 25y, use the Acro for 10y shots, views? Also, I know Tim is way to young but 6:44 three shots in 3.5 seconds, could have been on the grassy knoll. good show chaps, thank you.

It's a Blaser R8 in .223. / Charlie

If you are 'merican you wont afford it.. In the states you can buy 20 rifles for the price of a R8.. In sweden they are popular, but not because they are the best but the barrel-swapping. we have a limit of 6 rifles on hunting license, but barrels dont count towards that so if u need more calibers a R8 or R93 is the way to go for many.

@@jmkhenka Right you are! I can add quite a few beauties to my gun safe for the price of one of those. Great concept and work-around the gun restrictions you face on your side of the pond. Thank for the info.

Hi FS team, what aimpoint mount was used to attach to the scope please?
@fieldsportstv4 жыл бұрын
Hi Andy - Tim says: 'Spuhr rings with an ‘interface’ or shoe / base plate that fits most firearms. It is available as a kit. I did cover it but not shown. Aimpoint do show it on their website for the Acro.' / Charlie

This is exactly the kind of behaviour that gives shooting a bad name and supplies more support to those who are against us. Thankfully in this country the vast majority of shooters are against shooting animals that are moving with a rifle as they know it’s not humane and should only be advocated if an injured animal is on the run and with no other options. IMHO this video and a previous one advocating shooting foxes at extreme range portray the 2 individuals as look at the size of my balls, and in no way help to persuade the public otherwise. More of this equates to less support equates to the end of shooting. This channel has an obligation to use its platform in a positive way showing professional country sports people as it does with Niall Rowantree and not these examples of circus clowns. Last word, if you are truly representing the shooting community remove the clowns!

Hi Gordon I am of a similar mind as far as shooting 'moving' targets goes. As for 'long range' foxes, my limit would be 300-350 meters and that would be pushing it. Some are good enough to consistently group at 500 meters, but not me. In truth, foxes are usually 80-100 meters. I wouldn't worry too much though as thankfully joe public has little understanding of the above and sees no difference between a 200 or a 400 meter shot; they just see them as shots one and the same. Take care fella.
