What a nice boat. I have to say, since I've been bitten by the yachting bug (still need to make the cabbage to be able to afford it - working on that), this presenter is among the best I've seen - excellent hire, Yachting World. Great use of the language to get the feel of the boat across to viewers. Some of the best styling I've seen in a monohull. The owner has great taste.

90 percent of the time or more when they film these videos they remove all of that so that the boat looks sleeker and shows off the lines more. You're right though that no one attempting to do any offshore or even transoceanic passages would sail the boat in this configuration.
@hughthomas82607 жыл бұрын
Now to the review in 25 knots plus on a hot summer day in a choppy sea. The yacht is a stunning Med weekend boat but on a long sail, Atlantic crossing or round the world you would by sun burnt and bruised and cursing the lack of real practicality around things like dingy ease and accessibility especially if you are sailing as a couple and not with crew. No shade for long stays on deck, no grab handles below to navigate the open areas in a seaway, impractical sinks and wash basins unless docked and no easy access or security at night for a tender. As said this is a beautiful day sailer and a stunning vanity booster but far from a practical ocean yacht for remote locations. So yachting world either rename the magazine "Med Yachts for weekend use" or point out the reality. Contest yachts are wonderful but lets be realistic about their use.

It is a very pretty yacht and obviously it sails really well. I like it. Two questions though. How does the crew get to the crew quarters in the bow? Do they have to walk through the port side forward guest cabin? With the single point main sheet forward of the helm stations, how do you build a bimini enclosure that doesn't require the helmsman to walk out into the weather to get from the cabin to the helm? You would need a bimini over the entertainment cockpit, an open gap for the main sheet then another bimini for the helm station. For stormy or cold weather conditions you would want both biminis to be enclosed. So, the helmsman would need to open the rear of the cockpit enclosure, exit, stand in the open, then turn around and close it, then open the helms station enclosure, enter, then close it behind him/her before assuming control of the boat. So, in rain or spray conditions, teh helmsman would need to be wearing foul weather gear to take the watch. Additionally, postulate you're sailing on autopilot with the on-watch helmsman in the comfort of the cockpit enclosure, when something happens that requires immediate manual control of the boat at the helms station. So, the helmsman has to get out of one enclosure and enter the other at speed, possibly in an emergency. Doesn't sound like a very good idea, unless there is a way I don't see to build a single bimini that accommodates the layout.
@donaldvanvliet90393 жыл бұрын
You are talking about what *you* want. This boat is for sailors that are not afraid of the weather and who want to stand behind those wheels with a view on the sails that isn’t blocked by an enclosed bimini. Believe it or not, but that’s how it has been done for centuries, come rain or shine.

What stuck both my wife and me about this review was the look of utter sadness on the reviewer’s face, which we thought must have been put there because at the same time that he was discovering what I think is the most beautiful and elegant yacht I have ever seen and lusted for, he could not help but reflect that he would have to leave and in all probability would never get to sail it agin. That look of sorrow did more to sell that yacht than any amount of vulgar enthusiasm.

I would love to see: - how the fancy interior holds up while having +25 knots at open sea... - how much current the electric winch takes in rough weather and if all the fuses stay in position on such load... - what gear is used for the sails and winches, typically the small winches may need some upgrade for hard wind.... ...

What cornskid said + this boat is for people who enjoy sailing, not for delosfans who think amel is the only measure because that's the only boat they know + in these type of videos they never show the dodgers/biminis because they ruin the look of the boat, and then you always have the 'experts' complaining about how they don't like an exposed helm (as if they are the first to ever think of that🙄)

@Adnan - ive been looking a the exact same boats, the 67CS roughly $4mill, the Hanse $1.4mill but for some reason I keep leaning to the Beneteau Yacht 62 which can be picked up for just about $1mill ish. I have no doubt you can pay for anyone of these easily, but for me I struggle to see the added value of the 67C, and I keep finding the saloon on the 675 to be unprotected without anything to hang onto when heeling.. and with that Im liking the Yacht62 the best in the same size category.. Oh and don't forget insurance is about 2-3% of boat value per year. so about 20k per mill, not sure I really want to pay 80k insurance for a 67CS.. I could buy a log of very good Cuban Run and Cigars for that insurance money, just saying....

stunning vessel, however do we really need all that electrical wiring harness? What happened to real sailing? I am a firm believer in K.I.S.S. On my 32' sailboat I just keep the following electronics. GPS. Depth, Wind and VHF. I do have an older autopilot but it has not seen use in 10 years. When I travel long distance away from shore I make sure I have charts, compass sextant and a number of other non electrical navigation aids. I want to be able to relax while sailing. If a fuse pops then I know which one and where it is. I do not want to have to look at a wall of wires and fuses to get things back in order.
