On the ground in open play: what the player on the floor & the player on their feet must do

"Let 'em up!" is heard a lot in rugby union as a defender drops onto the ball and the chasing players attempt to gain possession while on their feet.

It's one of those rugby myth things. We've grown up with it, but its not the case - just get in there and jackle. I'm a Level 2 ref and bought the ref a pint after my U14s cup game for berating the ref for not letting the player up/allowing a jackle. So i know the answer now
