The freedom filters are for keeping out the larger debris. We use them when hauling grain to keep the bees wings out of the filters. Works great!

Mornin Mark, I still love these on the hunt video's, It's nice to see what's out there, what new, what's old and just plain what's worth lookin at just cause ya wanna look. Have a great week my friend, Say hello to Mrs. Twin stix for us.
@stephenadams529310 ай бұрын
The screen keeps the fine snow out of your air filters use to run it on the ice roads. As for the automatic trans after 20 years driving a stick I don't have to prove anything to anyone anymore. Wouldn't give up my automatic for highway use. In the bush or on the ice stick definitely gives you more control. A flat top truck looks great until you have to live in it for a couple weeks at a time. I like to be able to stand up and put my pants on.
@MFKR6969 ай бұрын
The sad thing is you *never* had to prove anything to anyone. The only one who cares whether you drive stick or not is you.

Those freedom filters are made down here in Nebraska, their claim is that they filter down to .005" for dusty environments and help to repel rain and snow. They are very popular with grain haulers to help keep chaf and bees wings out of the filters, I have them on my trucks and they are well worth the money.

I've driven K200 cabover Aerodynes a fair bit here in Australia and the windows in the top of the sleeper are ALWAYS kept covered, because you don't want that light and heat getting into the cab while you're trying to sleep. I can't speak for the guys that live in their trucks week in, week out, but for someone like me who would do semi-regular overnighters, I never saw the point of those windows beyond it harking back to the old Aerodynes. It's also interesting to note that the new Kenworth K220 cabovers don't have those windows anymore so I think most drivers weren't using them at all.

It's neat getting to see the auction units we dont have an RB here anymore. That tri drive with the super long fifth wheel slide is so it can still pin onto a trailer meant for a tandem, I've ran a few and they become steer scrub central with a short neck trailer on ice 😆

Hey, I know this is kind of far away, but if you're ever in Virginia, you should most definitely check out the Keystone Truck and Tractor Museum in Colonial Heights, VA. It has over 150 antique tractors and 100 antique trucks - including dozens of big rigs - all restored - on display! One of them is a custom 359 Pete extended hood with a 3408 Cat in it! In fact, it was because of that one truck at the museum that I discovered your channel!

Eh some autos are improving over the years For real a auto in the traffic is fantastic. For heavy duty work other than constant highway driving give me a damn manual! preferably a 13 speed or a 18 speed MANUAL transmission! I like to make my rigs do what the hell I want them too lol
@JacksonGuitarsPlayer0310 ай бұрын
Usually when your taking off in a automatic you cannot punch it and lug it if you have too unlike with a manual. The autos take off slowly then shortly they build up the horsepower that’s why it’s nicer with a automatic in a more powerful rig.
@1one3_Racing10 ай бұрын
@@JacksonGuitarsPlayer03 the big MP10 Mack ONLY comes in auto. In fact, any production truck over 600hp only comes in auto. Mack claims that a mis-shift in a manual will smash gears and they don't trust operators so they only offer manual.

I have driven one back when I hauled gravel … boss bought a brand new unit and it wouldn’t back up a slight incline in the field we were working. He got so mad he drove it back to the dealer and the next day handed me the keys to a rig with an 18 in it 😂 but I get it … it’s convenient to just put it in drive and drive

Extended slide filth wheel. It’s a heavy haul thang man. I run mine centered between the pusher and the front drive due to the length of my Neck on my lowboy. Here in the states they want me to get 20 thousand on each axle and still have weight on your steer. Those heavy weight Dock bumpers when they are heavy on the steer they just slide the seat back and forth to move the weight lol.

Please keep bringing these updates on auction prices. Given the auto market in general, I expect to see a considerable drop in auction prices falling. Are these "public" auctions you go to, or open to dealers only? Given the lack of auction sales (auction bid not even close to money owed for repos) in the used car market, nothing seems to be moving anywhere wholesale or new. It seems that, at least in the auto market, everyone seems to be "holding their breath", waiting for something to happen. Keep them coming...

International Lonestar, we couldn’t get them in australia because the front axle is wider than our laws allow but i think some went to new zealand
@Tiger35110 ай бұрын
At least 1 batch of Lonestars made it to Australia early in the production run, there were 2 of them running deliveries from a local steel fabrication shop in the Hunter Valley NSW in the mid 2000's. The story behind imports ceasing was more complex than that so I've heard, poor sales and questions over Euro 5 compliance (or lack thereof) also had something to do with it.

Stacks previously served a purpose and that was to get the smoke and soot up and away from the ground and up and away from the trailer. That purpose no longer exists since engines run much cleaner these days. Even without a dpf or scr system diesel exhaust can be very clean with modern engine control system and common rail injection. Common rail fuel injection greatly reduces noise and reduces engine wear due to pilot injection and multiple injection events. A truck is a tool and the purpose of that tool is to make money. What the outside of the trucks looks like is irrelevant, the truck is operated from the inside and that is where the driver spends the vast majority of the time. What happened to the principal of function over design, chrome serves absolutely zero purpose and only adds weight which reduces load capacity and adds to the cost of the truck. Automated transmissions increase fuel economy and driver safety due to a reduced work load and they reduce drivetrain wear and tear. Reducing the weight of the truck increases the amount of freight that can be carried which increases profitability.
