Hi Bro. I'm talking as a guy who was British archery champion in 2003. Because of arthritis i have now taken up catapults and bloody love it. Not having to pull back 70lbs is great relief. What I'm getting at is, what you have just explained about hitting the frame is almost identical to the laws of archery. Think this is why i love it so much. Nice one lad. Excellent advice. Wayne.

Absolutely brilliant - Was pissing myself laughing and forkits and rushin. Can imagine if i'm rushin I'm going to be saying forkit!!. That said John is the best I've seen in the UK for sling shot shooting and information. British Greatness!

One of the lessons I learned shooting Archery was the importance of FOLLOW THROUGH after the shot, and I haven't seen it addressed in any how to shoot a slingshot videos. Which is the subconscious tendency to anticipate the shot and relaxing one or both of your hands and/or the body position prematurely, also called peeking. The fix is to hold your entire hand and body positions until the shot hits the target. Then relax. Also allow a brief time interval between the shots. To allow the muscles to recover and your brain to process the prior shot. Don't hurry and instantly begin reloading for the next shot thus blurring all the shots together!

Years ago, i was used to shoot pfs catapult. Now i stick to ttf style catapult but i use the tweak the pouch method, and then have the speed bump phenomenon as a security advantange. For me, i turn the pouch at 90 ° and the fork hits are history. And as you said, adsolutly NEVER rush.

Today I got many fork hits on the lower fork. I figured out that it is due to pinch, I use thumb and middle finger to pinch, and the thumb seems to be in front of the ammo, causing the ball to roll over my thumb and deviate downward, hitting the lower fork. Thanks for this video, it corroborated my troubleshooting.

Great forks John, I’ve been out scouting branches, quite a few live oaks come down in a wet storm, I’ve found four out of that lot. Great tips, if you just 90 up on everything like you’ve said, no hits. Or no huge weird rocks, my now, ex wife mangled her hand 😊with a big rock with a TTF I made. I just had bicep tendon reattached, weak left (catapult hand) arm, will one band reduce my accuracy when I restart shooting, soon...
@davidboyd3746 жыл бұрын
I'm virtually destroying a TTF catty and continually get fork hits at the bottom of the cup. I'm really trying to figure it out. But I think I'm not holding the frame correctly sometimes. But hopefully I will figure it out

Does using OTT Bands on a TTF frame increase chance of fork hits?
@bwghall15 жыл бұрын
can you use one length of the band all the way around John and put the pouch on the band, please advise. Cheers Briddy.
@johnjgb61784 жыл бұрын
Can twisted bands be a cause? I use a Dankung style catapult with looped tubes. One time I got 4 fork hits during one shooting session. Think it was due to not untwisting the tubes.

How many times you can shoot with a slingshot until the rubber goes off? How often do you change the rubber?
@viralvideo1716 жыл бұрын
That depends on the humidity and sun exposure plus other factors like forkhits and storage.
@Nazareth4342 жыл бұрын
Twice only- it's a super expensive hobby. J/k- been using my current band for a long while now, previous band however got hopes in it from hitting the forks too much, and had to replace after about a week.

Всем доброго.Конечно,создавая подходящие рогачи с подходящей геометрией на будущее это хорошо.Но не проще взять готовый рогач, распарив его паром создать необходимую геометрию?!Потом просушить в микроволновке или духовке.

Was gonna go fishing but fork hit I’m gonna for a mooch instead lol I’ve never had a fork hit with with my jack pyke wrist rocket type catapult but don’t get good accuracy with them but I think they best to learn kids with so they don’t keep hitting the fork or there hands
