This series/show/whatever you want it to be, all of the other production/session breakdown videos you’ve done are a WEALTH of knowledge and inspiration and we all cannot thank you enough. The surprise records? Dope. The opening up of the process and insight? Next. Level.

So all my voice memos of me scatting into my phone walking home are not a sign of insanity?
@spokaneman73272 жыл бұрын
That voice memo of the first play had so much detail complexity that I’m flummoxed thinking about it. What a wonder. Mr. Wong, thank you for bringing joy to the masses. We need it, we need you. 😊

@@benkle3000 Late reply but if I'm completely honest, IMO the worst posture is had by people who are actively trying to have good posture. It just doesn't work if you are actively thinking about posture, I think it always shows and looks unnatural. Just be you. I don't think Cory Wong worked on his posture deliberately. If you can somehow manage to get out there, liking yourself just how you are, and not give too many damns about what other people think, 99% chance you'll come across much more natural and confident PLUS you'll be able to dedicate your precious mental resources into improving who you are rather than improving how you might look to others.

This series is awesome! Seeing the steps that are involved in getting from an idea to a released song is super helpful. What I like best is that you play the sound examples from start to finish. Awesome! Thank you!

I love Cory!! I genuinely wonder how he manages payment of his artists / features, especially when he will ask them afterwards to edit and comp their takes, like with Phoebe (he mentioned it in his livestream of the Dusk album). No shade! Just genuinely curious. When he asks her later to comp her vocals, does he say, "I'll throw you an extra $200?" or an extra percentage of royalties?

Unbelievable mandolin work! And yeah no shame in Apple loops! I still use GarageBand on my iPad occasionally for Apple loops, keyboards etc. I basically use it as an instrument app and just record it as audio into my interface to my actual DAW. I had an iPad for several years before I finally opened that program and realized how useful it could be.
