Not a lot of middle ground this week. Books were either incredible or passable. AWW and Geiger were definitely amongst the top end.

Great reviews! I like that you take your time with each book. A lot of channels it seems like they are trying to rush through each review like it's an auction. Refreshing to see someone taking their time and adding some meaningful commentary to each book.

Absolute Wonder Woman issue one art went on sale a couple days ago. The entire issues art was sold out in under 20 minutes. Sherman is beyond a next level artist.

Totally agree with you on Detective and the story. It is going to be really obvious and possibly a let down or we are going to get a surprise. But as a single issue this book is really good. Green Arrow: I am all in now. I feel like the art has settled down and it is all good.

Yep, I was trepidatious with that first entry for Green Arrow but I really enjoyed issue two. Ollie feels like a great character to showcase for today's landscape in and out of comics.

The Mora art: were there different colorist on each book? He seems like an artist that just has one colorist for all his work and I feel like Bonvillain never fails on her color work.

Yep, each book has a different colorist. Totally agree though, he has the prestige where he should be able to choose his partners. And heck, maybe he did 🤷🏻‍♂️ But one definitely looked better than the other IMO.

Robert Downey Jr made me like iron Man. Black Canary has always been a character that DC just can't seem to break out.

It's a bummer too because there's a lot to explore with Black Canary. The relationship with Ollie alone is crazy. Give her a grounded, earnest book. There's a story to tell there.

I just don't see the appeal everyone has for absolute WW. 3 issues in and she's so in love she's sacrificing her arm? The big villain is giant crustacean who yells and eats people? Lazy writing. Instantly throwing a boyfriend in her lap making the character instantly fall in love. Her arm is gone but she just has a spare robo arm on her? Like how often does that happen that she loses her magical arm? Just bad writing, good art though

If I had a nickel for every time I had to give up my arm for a loved one... I totally get your assessment. The biggest appeal for me is that I'd never been heavily invested in DC and this is a clean on ramp with little need for all the minutiae of continuity bogging things down. I can give a little leeway to the big 2 for moments like the arm since I feel like the time they have to develop a readership is pretty slim and it didn't feel out of character for who we've seen in these 3 issues. Hey, that's the great thing about comics too. If we all agreed about every comic, it's getting pretty stale and boring.

@@9PanelGrid Yea those are fair points you bring up. I've tried to read WW and it just doesn't seem to click with me. I think Thompson just writes these relationships that we're suppose to care about but doesn't give us a real reason to care about it. Glad you enjoyed the book though
