I once had my transmission go out in my van in Nashville on the way back to the Detroit area from New Orleans. I ended up exploring Nashville at no more than 30 MPH because that was as fast it would go. Went shopping to kill time before bed that night and somehow got locked inside a store when it closed with no warning and all the employees left. Set off the alarm going out the fire exit and the cops showed up almost immediately. Fun times sorting out that little mix up. The transmission guy was super nice, worked on it all day and refused to charge me for his time because it was a lost cause and he felt bad for me being stranded and obviously living in the van. It was a crappy van so I wasn't too upset, I considered just abandoning it but at the last minute managed to sell it to a scrapper for $400. Rented a car to get home...amazing how much I was able to fit in a PT Cruiser! Hope your situation turns out to be cheaper than expected!

When you get a permit for The Wave, you jump on it. The place is amazing. I have known people waiting 15 days in the vicinity applying everyday to win the permit lottery without success. Sorry for the tough ending, but you are a seasoned traveler, you know that it can happen and how to deal with it. All in all, it was a fabulous opportunity and you will not regret to have done it. PS: in Europe, diesel is cheaper than regular.

Exactly!! That is totally why I had to jump on it. It's one of those bucket list places for me and the permits are so hard to get! As for the van, yes you are right! It really was best case scenario but I was running on absolute fumes so I think the lack of sleep was making me freak out lol!! no regrets for sure☺️

Sounds like an alternator. There is no power to go uphill. I might be wrong tho. There's no need to panic, and these things happen, just make sure you have emergency equipment with you like jumpercables and battery booster power station. Roadside assistance is good. ✌️ btw your hair looks just fine ...beautiful ❤

It was so fun to experience for me 10 years later! I was shocked how much and how little i remembered of it correctly lol. We used Kanab Tour Company, and our guide was Dan. Start applying for the permits now. My friend was trying for 5 years before he got these! so worth the wait though

@@erin_elyse The views were amazing because it was Angel's Landing, but it was like 60 degrees out so the snow was almost all gone. Just some slippery melting ice in the shady spots...yeah I should have turned around haha. Still made it back ok and now it's a great memory! (and nope, just regular hiking boots)

Wow, this was such a roller coaster of emotions. From such a high to a low. Not as big a deal, but forgetting your jacket still sucks. I'm so sorry about Janeway though. I hope it's just a minor tummy ache and she heals up soon with no further cost. I would be absolutely heartbroken if it was something bad, so I can't even imagine how you must be feeling right now. Even though you always seem to find the best in a situation, I'm rooting for you and sending you good thoughts. It was TOTALLY worth it!! and yes! bummer I had to race back home but the wave is such a bucket list thing for me so i didn't mind! Sometimes i need reasons to come back home to actually make me go back lol I could spend forever there as well! there were sooooo many cool formations out there. Jordan and I are both go-pro nerds lol!! he doesn't have any social media though! I was so mad about the jacket lollllll and then the van problems made it seem not so bad haha!! This was a few weeks ago at this point so I can say that Janeway is now fully healed from her tummy ache! it was an easy fix but a very expensive one😭 its okay though, I put her through a lot so it was about time for a repair of some sort! in the moment i was super overwhelmed though and worried. Aww that was one of my favorite videos I've ever made, my Rim to Rim video! I seriously have the best family. they are hilarious. I have a short trip with my dad planned in a few weeks and something very very special this summer with my mom and sister so hopefully you will be seeing more of them sometime soon!

I would say nah to cut your hair, its pretty. I don’t know short hair even though its easy to comb and less shampoo used on it etc…it’s more styling required. I think long hair is actually easier to put up. That’s my hair opinion 😅. But anyway Moab looks so cool and hopefully your van gets better. Vehicles are so annoying when they decide to misbehave.

oop if that were true, half of my videos would be illegal!! It's definitely frowned upon to "geotag" certain areas that are well kept secrets, that would be damaged if there was an increase in visitors, but both of these places are very much locked down with the strict permitting system!
