Nah, in 30 years people will still be listening to folks like Tyler Childers, Sturgill Simpson, Colter Wall, Sierra Ferrel, Red Clay Strays, Whiskey Meyers, Charley Crockett, Billy Strings, Zack Bryan, Turnpike Troubadours Etc. folks who make real music rather than these phonies who are just pretty faces singing songs that teams of writers wrote with the goal of becoming popular for financial reasons. Record labels in Nashville have done nothing other than ruin authenticity in country music and authenticity is the basis of country music. They also gate keep HARD, if you can halfway sing decent, are pretty, and have a southern accent you can make it in Nashville. Name 4 artists who are regularly on the radio that don't have a southern accent? Think about this, the country musicians from the 20th century that are still heavily listened to today are all people that had major struggles against the Nashville gate keepers back in the day. Waylon, Merle, Johnny, Elvis, Patsy, Hank Sr & Jr, Willy etc. None of them were a record label golden child like Lainey is. Stapleton will be the only mega popular radio country artist who people will continue listening to in the future, he is actually exceptionally talented. Unlike the other 99.99% of current radio country artists can barely play a few chords on guitar and barely even sing anymore, half of the shit on the radio is rap with a steel guitar or fiddle.

I've read numerous posts on this thread about Lainey's tenacity, strength, personal resolve and humbleness to get where she is. I agree, but let me explain. She took guitar lessons from me back in 2009 in Monroe, La. After about a month she apprised me that she was a singer songwriter then played and sung a song she wrote. After hearing her sing, I asked her to joint my band the Cadillac Kings. She said yes and we became the first live band she had ever sung with. Lainey sung with us for over a year and a half and during that time with us I discovered the secret to her success!! I remember vividly we were playing a club called "Coconuts" and i was setting up when she arrived all dressed up and (didn't have the bell bottom thing going on yet) she put her purse and her hat down, or whatever it was she had in her hands, and jumped right in the back of that old dirty trailer and started pulling out gear and stuff to help get ready for the show!!! That's when I knew if anyone could make it in the music business, Lainey could because she was committed to what she was doing from the ground up!!! Can you imagine her looking the way she does now (and she did then too) going in and out of that old dirty trailer cause she felt she had to do her part!! That's called "work ethic" and Lainey is the very definition of it. We were blessed to have her talents in our band and I am proud of her success but I am by not surprised at it at all.
