We always carried a a 2' long 2x6 and 1' long 4x4. If you get a flat you loosen the the lugs on the flat tire and then pull the trailer, on the good tire, up the 2x6 and stop on the 4x4. This will lift the flat tire making it a lot faster and easier to change it.
