That isnt true what your saying about Cafo raised pigs. If you need educated reach out. They are raised to 300 lb and not allowed to eat other animal products

This generator uses a fuel pump diaphragm so ethanol free gasoline is recommended because the ethanol(alcohol) will dry rot the diaphragm fuel pump.

Dude, you rock. I watched a couple videos when I was thinking about getting IPP's. I brought them home a few days ago and have watched more of you since. Definitely subscribing. Not sure if anyone in your house is a sourdough baker but if you have discard you can add a little bit when you prep your next pig meal and it will really speed up fermentation. I did it with barley for my goats and chickens.

NC used to have dry winters, but for more than a decade winters here have been wet. The combination of dead vegetation and wet ground will cause any pig to root. Here pigs are used as plows, the rooting also makes insects available to chickens that otherwise would remain too deep in the winter.

Up until a few years ago…I always grew onions in raised bed, extremely fertile soil, thick mulch and almost daily watering. I have switched to ground planting onions on black plastic…decent compost/soil but only watering them 2-3 times total. No fertilizer. Consistent 3-4 inch onions…once you go black plastic, you will never go back. Takes a little work to prepare the site, I run double rows 12” apart, onions 6” on center with drip between each row. No weeding is the best part. Make yourself a tool to punch holes and set your depth. Easiest thing you will grow in the garden. Dixondale is awesome, starting your own seeds is an interesting challenge.

I'm right there with you on wanting my meat to come from healthy animals and that I feel a responsibility to make sure they live happy lives first. I live in the city, so I just raise rabbits because they're quiet and easy to hide on my back porch. I think if I can raise meat in a trailer park, then almost anybody can. I've replaced all the chicken in my diet with just one breeding pair of rabbits having 3-4 litters a year. I still end up with more than I can eat as a single person and sell them for $3-4 a pound :) They get spoiled with fresh, organic veg from the garden and free leaves from a mulberry tree in my yard. I grow about half their feed for free in a garden only the size of three car parking spots. I cry a little on butchering day, but there's nothing like the primal satisfaction of feeding friends and family by putting meat on the table! I was surprised the first time how good it felt to be confident my meat had lived a great life and that I had provided for myself. I'm making future plans for pigs at my sister's new property. So thanks for the info to help me make good investments in breed, fence and plan ahead for feed costs. I've never seen such rich-looking pork and it's making me hungry :)) I'll bet the flavor is on a another level
