We lost many good skateboarders in Reading Pennsylvania because we didn't have a place like this. Our streets and ground is some of the worst stuff to skate, period. And the parks were literally haggard, But learning in the roughest stuff means that your skill has to compensate for the terrain, and we ain't too bad because of it. I wouldn't be surprised to see some of us step up to the plate big time. There a reason Kyle and Maurio blew bam away when they showed up to the castle bam skatepark grand opening. Even he wanted to know what the heck was going on in Reading Pennsylvania when they showed up. Ask bam or kerry getz about us. Give us some years to get used to smooth surfaces and bowls/transition and we WILL shine later. Thanks to everyone who did this. We needed you guys on this coast. Especially in this city. ...and watch out, because there is more than just Kyle Nicholson, and Maurio Mccoy will be coming from this small city. It may have come 20yr too late for some here, however... we got kids now, and we didn't have people to show us what to do, or how to do it. And most certainly or a place like this is going to help. Thanks for giving us an opportunity to step up, now it's up to us. And honestly all we know, all we do around here is grind hard. Just give us a few years, actually having bowls and good skatible stuff if messing with us.😅 and we have a lot to learn.....but we do learn quick. Again we have to, we do can't really skate in the winter. We are the kids on the wrong side of the tacks. We dont have money so some boards are reallybad. We can't skate for months out of the year and need to refresh every year in springtime. We know Ain't nothing givien to us, we gotta earn it... And even when we had the cards stacked against us (including local government) Some of the Philly boys knew about us.....We are coming for our seat at the world table, hold our reservation for a few years and check back again. ✌️🤙🤜🤛

Reading is like the weirdest place in the north east to me. It’s like farm land, suburbs, woods, and industrial all packed into one place. I wish that park was there when I was going there to pick up roll cages all the time

There’s some cool street spots in Redding too. They’re hidden. I read Bmx and I remember going there back in the day a few times and we find some pretty cool shit. It’s a little mini city, but first-hand rail I ever did was in Reading.

Good shit! Been waiting for this one!! I jumped the fence there fourth of July weekend and skated for like 45 mins (it was so hot). I went to Holistic and confessed my sins to JD afterwards. But I immediately was like "I hope Tom skates this when it opens". And yeah those bowls look so much bigger in person and they look huge here. I agree about both the weird ground in spots and that bank becoming a quarter right at the top. Also the ledges to nowhere seem like kind of a waste to me. Otherwise I think it's pretty sick!

Shane is actually proper good. Sneaky good. Just plays it cool as fuck, then hands over the camera and starts putting down tricks that 90% of skaters in their 30's can only dream of 🔥 He's such a character, I love it.
