I have listened to the soundtrack and seen this film more times than I or just about anyone else can count. I know every note. I know every lyric. I know very stirring violin. Then I ran across this video. Jordan takes the vocals on this and takes them to an entirely new and entirely elevated level. On the chorus where the vocals soar he does more than makes them soar. He makes them take flight. The mark of a true vocalist who understood the assignment, then went for extra credit.

One of my favorites. I recall an evening when I was in London with two business colleagues, cocktail hour in our hotel lounge, and the pianist who was quite close to our table began to play this song. And I stood up beside the piano and sang as he played, I think he was a little pleased to have someone elevate his background music into an attention-grabbing entertainment. There’s a real feeling when you can surprise an audience like that…. Background conversations hushed , and you’re the star, even for three minutes! Yes, a got a warm reception and several cocktails delivered to our table. 😊.

I would never handle an entrance cue after This man sang this song like the entire Solar System serenading the Sun. He is impeccable. In a lyric daze, I would blow the entrance sky-high, slackjawed.

Really wonderful rendition. Great work to all. A little too well enunciated for my taste, and I will say, the deep bellowing power of Vic Damone is hard to follow! But perfectionism aside, this was such a marvelous effort. So much passion and skill!

Whitestonehope hi I will check out Vic Damone. He is fabulous but definitely has a produced operatic sound. I love the easygoing charm of the original Freddy, John Michael King. He did it without a microphone but was easy on the enunciation.
