My goal with this series is to give a glimpse into the photographers thinking process and hopefully give useful insights or inspiration that can improve your street photography.

Or just two street photographers on a street hunt!
This episode features brazil based freelance photographer & journalist Gustavo Minas. He’s a member of Burn my Eye and Flanares collectives. His first book "Maximum Shadow, Minimal Light" was released in May 2019 when this video was filmed.

@@gustavominas Fantastic work, Gustavo. Ho much do you use your 27mm compared to the zoom? I'm considering buying my first fujji and I'm conflicted between the fixed 23mm lens of a fuji x100f or a fujixe3 with a 27mm pancake lens. I know you prefer your 27, but how often do you rely on the zoom? Thanks a lot! and again, fantastic work...

@@ErikvonStrongber hi Erik, I tend to use the zoom lens when I want something different, once or twice a month I use it, then after a couple of days I get tired of it. it makes my process slower, compared to the 27mm. I like to use it when I feel like exploring more details, or trying a more abstract image. It's great for shooting reflections as well, because you can compress layers and sometimes you come out with something unexpected. I think that Fuji 23mm is too wide and a bit distorted, it doesn't work the same way as a 35mm in full frame.

@@jochemcasier6974 I'd have to agree his style is similar to Alex Webb and Harry Gruyaert, a lot of focus on colour, light and shadow. You should check out Gabi Ben Avraham, he shoots a lot in Tel Aviv and around the globe. Incredible storyteller.

This production is of the highest quality, I love how you capture it all without much editing. This method does not force anything, it’s all human and natural. Like taking a walk with a friend. I've always thought that extraordinary fastness is one of the marks of a true master artist. Think of Picasso lightpainting, Hendrix playing. Gustavo is living proof of that theory. He is doing masterpieces like a machine in this video.
