Niiiice! Hey would you say the X-S20 overheats similary quick as the X-S10? My X-S10 has become my A-Cam but I still use my X-H1 for longer interview takes. If the fan does extend recording times for 4K/30fps and the X-S20 doesnt overheat faster without it then I might replace my X-H1 with the X-S20.
@bigheadtaco Жыл бұрын
I don't do long-form video recording like you, or at least not as much as you. However, Fujifilm is saying over 30 minutes of open-gate 6.2K recording without the fan, so that's pretty good right? I don't think the X-S10 could record that long, or was the more the limit of the UHS-I memory slot?
@SamuelStreetlife Жыл бұрын
@@bigheadtaco I don‘t know about sd card restrictions but with the X-S10 filming two sessions until the recording limit is never possible. And in Japan during summer it is much shorter😆 but the fan might extend 4K recording times which would also be a nice bonus. I just want the X-S20 to not be worse than the X-S10😂

@@SamuelStreetlife with new processor, which is twice as powerful but also twice as power efficient, that in itself will help with power consumption. With the addition of the fan and larger battery, that will make a big difference.

It’s not the best looking Fujifilm camera, but functionally it’s always been a solid option, especially for videographers who want a compact lightweight option
@TimS-pg5pv Жыл бұрын
Yeah I'm an X-T user but I reckon the X-S20 looks pretty cool@@bigheadtaco Lightweight, smallish form factor, great features. A real candidate as an upgrade from my X-T3 rather than the 40mp sensor on the larger X-T5. Many of the X-T's features although great are things I never use so the X-S20's definitely in the mix for me.
@bigheadtaco Жыл бұрын
@@TimS-pg5pv it would be cool if Fujifilm made an X-T5S with the previous 26MP sensor for those who want speed over resolution.

Did you try the stabilisation of x-s20 with Tamron 11-20 and the fuji 10-24? I have this camera and I need to choose between these two lenses, very hard choice 🥲

Thanks for answering my big question right off the bat. Should I upgrade from the XS-10. The answer is no since I am trying to shot more video for lifestyle stuff. I have 3 batteries. I will wait a year or two. My main camera is a R6 Mark II so Fuji stuff is on the back burner.

if you have the X-S10 and don't need open gate, you're happy with the AF performance, and you're okay with having a couple of batteries in your pocket, I think you're good :-)

I find 12 or 13mm is the sweet spot on APS-C (around 20mm full frame equiv). That 8mm is a technical achievement but I'm not quite sure where you would favour it above a fast 12mm? - I'm eyeing the 11-20mm Tamron F2.8 to compliment by 13mm Viltrox F1.4
@-grey Жыл бұрын
I'm sad that it's so big. Idk why I was expecting it to be compact like the R50 though - It's a mini X-H, and those are the the size of the S5II. It really is the year of the mega PSAM cam. I think they're trying to force me to impulse preorder the X-Pro 4 on announcement. 😂

Excellent non-review. I have the X-S20 and want to foot stomp getting the fan. Just budget it into the price. It's been hot in the South for sure. Shooting outside in 90+ degrees brings up a warning after about 10 minutes of shooting video clips without the fan. The fan fixed it. The S20 is the perfect combination of the features I liked with my X-E3 and my H1.

ha ha, other review gear. I'm rarely just reviewing one camera at one time. I had the Leica M10-R, Leica M4, three 28mm lenses, two mini light meters (testing), and another Fujifilm kit so I could record myself when Chris wasn't around. I wish I could travel light, but since reviewing is my job, it's rare that I'm out with just one body and lens.

“you don’t want 40mp in a camera this small” 🤔🤔???????? what??!! how does that make any sense ?! Is the rolling shutter a problem in the xh2 with 40mp ??!
@bigheadtaco Жыл бұрын
Sorry about that, I should have said it better. On a prosumer camera where size, weight, features, and price are usually part of the product planning process, having the highest megapixels isn't a priority. I knew they wouldn't put the 40MP sensor on a compact prosumer camera meant for non-professional use.
@chrismeetschris Жыл бұрын
also to second that -- the rolling shutter on the xh2 is way worse than the xh2s.
@Vinterloft Жыл бұрын
It's not a pro camera and the average consumer isn't able to deal with cataloguing and culling thousands of 40MP RAWs. I use the X-T5 professionally and even I use the second card slot for 20MP JPEG backups and shooting 40MP RAW to slot 1.
@JayGrapherBKK Жыл бұрын
this is so neat and even open gate to shoot full 3:2 aspect ratio on a budget model camera? fuji really bringing out the best features. the 8mm lens just looks so small its amazing - owning the 10-24mki is the current set up for vlogging and it at least has 24 for zooming in a little for vlogging and OIS as well which i think the 8mm dont have it right?? might be a perfect video topic to come around again to also compare the XC 11-35mm lens as well? also very compact and pretty wide lens for vlogging too. (and the new 11-20 f.28 lens)
@bigheadtaco Жыл бұрын
open gate is a game changer for a prosumer camera. I know many content creators who really don't need the X-H2S, but want open gate. As for vlogging, I still think the XF10-24mm is one of the best options for X Mount shooters

It looks a lot nicer, but I've learnt my lesson about buying less attractive cameras, so I'm waiting for the X-Pro4. I missed the X-H line in terms of timing, and now have a Lumix S1R, so the X-Pro line (or perhaps something very small) is what I'll stick to for Fuji.

So disappointed with Fujifilm over the last year here in mainland China. Hardly any cameras or lenses available over the last year at an official store. They actual got some XS10’s in stock two weeks ago and priced them at 8199rmb just for the body it was 6999rmb in December 2022. So many in Chinese fanboy community let down. Hope they can sort availability out first.
