Li Yu is an awesome guy. I know that it would hurt his heart because he loved Suoxin too, but he respects that she wants children and he can't give that to her. To give them that land was such a wonderful thing for him to do. He deserves only the best.

It's so bittersweet to watch this as well. He loves her and wants to be with her, but he also loves her so much that he'd rather her be happy with someone who can fulfill her wants rather than forcing her to be with him. True love doesn't always come from the person you end up marrying

Li yu essentially turned them into minor Nobles with that amount of land and right on the edge of the capital that was a major boss move he set them up better than some lower rank officials
My three favourite characters: Souxin, Eunuch Lee, and the Doctor.

I also adore Sanbao. He was so damn loyal.

Rongpei was also worth liking. She never took anything from any of the concubines or other servants. She worked with others for Ruyi's benefit. As far as I know she was the only servant who followed their master to the next life. That's is true loyalty.

I do hope that Li Yu would be a godfather figure to any Souxin and Doctor Liang's children in the future.

The bride was so beautiful. U know, their daughter married Emperor Jiaqing’s brother.

her wedding is beautiful, the hair ornament, the dress everything is special compared to the wedding of Lian Xin arranged by the empress..

My thought is the same. It is a juxtaposition showing the differences between the first Empress and Ruyi. First Empress forced a sobbing girl to marry an aging and abusive eunuch (cutting her off from the ability to have descendants and running the risk of becoming a hungry ghost in the afterlife with no-one to care for her). That marriage ceremony was attended by very few and occurred after dark to minimize the scandal. She did this to her best servant simply to use her a bribe to the eunuch she wanted to spy on the Emperor. When the marriage proved to be an abusive Hell the first Empress didn't do anything except to worry that she might have wasted the bribe -- a human being who had loved and served her. Ruyi arranged a marriage of love to a respectable man who could give Suoxin children stability and comfort. The ceremony occurred by daylight and was attended by well-wishers and even some of the noble concubines. All the difference in the world.

I think Ruyi saw Suoxin like a daughter. ❤ I think she saw A'Ruo as a little sister which was why she was so aggrieved at the betrayal.

Okay- who writes these titles? The moment in the thumbnail had nothing to do with the jewelry! Yes, she's dressed very well for a poor palace maid, because Ruyi loves her very much. Suoxin is becoming a married woman, leaving her long service to the Forbidden City behind! Tell me the truth- did an AI write the titles? The translations are good from what I can tell (not much, let's be real, lol!) so I don't understand the random titles.
@@RottLiuYour information is correct. It explains why Empress Fuca, the Noble Consort and Ruyi all wore red. It supposedly kept away evil spirits and blessed the marriage. Unfortunately it couldn't save them from court/harem politics and scheming, not to mention the emperor's changing attitude.

@RottLiu the veil in western culture has it's roots more in that marriages were arranged and in higher class situations they rarely had actually met before, and sometimes the bride didn't quite...live up to her appearance in her portrait.
