Great video guys :-) If you're watching this and in any way considering buying one of these I'd say this... Shoot! I own a range of pretty smart watches...but make no mistake, this is a great little watch and with a ton of character and personality to boot. It also offers outstanding value for money. Highly, highly recommended!

It almost feels weird since everybody bashes Seiko now and tries to explain how Heimldar and whatever thought up makes are better choice and value for money. I guess they are... But longevity is questionable.

I’ve owned the blue dial mini-Turtle for 2 years now. I absolutely love it and think it’s the best Seiko dive watch under $500 and is greatly under appreciated. I have both the blue rubber strap (from the PADI variant) and Seiko stainless steel bracelet and it wears great on either. The size is perfect for smaller wrists and it just has the unique but quirky Seiko DNA that makes it a standout piece. I’m screwed if Seiko does a king mini turtle with a ceramic insert and sapphire crystal as I’ll buy one for sure. Great video review as always.

i keep bouncing around with what seiko I want next and this one stays true to what I look for.
@yoshireincarnate16493 жыл бұрын
hope they do a 'king' mini turtle one day with sapphire, maybe a movement upgrade and no date/lumed date or smth. also, a solar (and even radio controlled) version would be so sick.
@dustingaddis24233 жыл бұрын
The perfect watch to me would be a 40mm-42mm diver (the shorter the lug to lug the better) with a simple uncluttered dial (no sub dials, minimal text, etc) that's solar powered and radio controlled. No one makes this watch, and I do not understand why. The basic Citizen Promaster diver comes close, but it's not radio controlled and it's a little bigger than my ideal size...I still own and enjoy one though haha.
@yoshireincarnate16493 жыл бұрын
@@dustingaddis2423 agree 100%. rly suprised there arent any options yet and ive come across the citizen ones before but never quite pulled the trigger on one. full metal g shocks are a testament that ppl would be willing to pay more for a full steel rc solar watch. so why not an analog dial one?
@dustingaddis24233 жыл бұрын
@@yoshireincarnate1649 there's plenty of analog radio controlled watches, but no divers that aren't huge and/or have a bunch of extra crap on the dial and/or only receive the signal in certain areas. The Citizen PMD56-3081 is a prime example. It's large(ish), extra stuff on the dial, giant pushers on the right side of the case, and only picks up the Japanese radio signal.

I have just bought one yesterday, my first diver watch. I think it has a very special design, in my opinion the Mini Turtle looks better than the SKX013. As I have what is considered small wrists, with a size of 14,5 cm (about 5,7 inch), it is very hard to find diver watches that can fit my wrist and look good. Most of them are too big as the diver watches are a little bit bigger due to their functionality, to be visible under water. The choice would be either to wear a watch that will look a little bit oversized on the wrist, or not to wear a diver watch at all. With a lug to lug distance of about 43 mm, this watch can be considered suitable for smaller wrists.

I really need to get one of these. My regular Turtle wears great, so I can only imagine how well this one feels on wrist! I agree, Hardlex gets an undeserved bad rep. Out of my 15+ Seikos, I've never scratched a Hardlex crystal due to normal use. The ONLY time I did was due to a high speed impact with a brick wall (seriously!). Also, people can hate on the pressed clasp all they want, but no one can deny how slim and comfortable they are. Great review man!

Just got this watch in the mail yesterday. It’s too bad this is a Japan only release because it’s a very reasonably sized diver and I consider it to be the true successor to the skx. It has elements of the 6309 and other historical divers from the brand but blended in a new package. It’s a shame it never caught on.
@steved15932 жыл бұрын
Another thing that makes it: the bezel and dial is smaller - giving the smaller profile and it's 10g lighter than an SKX Shame it's not caught on in a big way. It's a way better watch.

Cool looking watch, but I don't need diver, I go to the beach twice a month but I never dive, nobody dive much anymore, is just a fad, a fashion statement and I'm not for that kind of uselessness. This diver fad/fever will fade away soon, hopefully!
@TheShotenZenjin3 жыл бұрын
Divers are popular because of their style, robustness, and usefulness. You know with a diver that it will be robust enough to go underwater for swimming and snorkeling. The bezels are extremely useful for all kinds of timing and countdown events. The lume on most divers is excellent and very useful for when you need to know the time in the dark (not just underwater, but for example, in the theater and bedroom). Style, of course, is subjective, but seeing as many millions of divers have been sold to non-divers, I’m guessing a lot of people just love the diver aesthetic. I wouldn’t hold your breath waiting for the diver “fad” to fade away!
