Onboard 2012 Novabus LFSA

Taken 12/21/16 from the Hugh Grant Circle to Devoe Avenue with the new information screens and Announcements.
These new information screens have popped up on several SBS routes, including the S79, B46, M15, and Q44, and are serving as pilots to test onboard screens. These give information about the next stop, bus transfers, how far away other buses are from the next stop, announcements, and feature a second screen displaying MTA and "I Love NY" ads.

Wow, r142a_7795! I can't believe that #5909 has installed a large screen with announcements on it. They are going to install more large screens with announcements on the Q44 Select Bus Service

What happened to the Nova Q44 buses?

They were replaced by the New Flyer XD60s and were sent to Manhattan and the Bronx to retire some D60HFs.

I have a feeling these screens and automated announcements are long overdue on buses, considering almost every major transit system in the US and Canada have them already. even though it's a test period right now , what's the opinions on this upgrade

The Highrise Elevator Lover!!!! I do think the annoucements could be a bit better... but I agree that it's a lot better than having the drivers make the annoucements, since half the time you can't even hear them.

I wonder why it took so long for these screens and automated announcements systems to be put on the buses, considering the trains already have them or something similar if I'm not mistaking. did it have something to do with funding or other circumstances? they look nice tbh

Now MTA buses have announcements as well. Not sure if this was a thing back in the day or this is new.

Adreece High they use the Samantha text to speech synthesizer. At least that's what it sounds like.
