Winning! Another great video Eric. Thanks for sharing your settings and explaining your use of the rear thumb break. On the subject of running no traction control. I road with a fella ex racer on the street that kept his traction control off. He claimed it messed with the engines power delivery when he had it on one wheel. I’m just not that brave I keep mine at 2 or 3. Lol

My RSV4 is the same as it pertains to power and traction control. I turned off wheelie control - different bike. Then I turned off all traction control... different bike again. Then I put a 1/5th turn throttle on it. Yep, different bike. Now it is a vicious monster that slides and wheelies everywhere ...... but in all the right ways. Never freaks me out, never spins as hard as my built GSX-R with a bit more power does. You can steer the bike with the throttle, it's @#$^% great and shows you why the companies have much more advanced traction control solutions available for their bikes for extra money.... the rider wants a safety net, not a power killer. The only thing I haven't cracked with that bike is headshaking in 1st and 2nd gear off a slower hairpin.
@superduked333 ай бұрын
Sounds great nice work. On the Superduke, adding swingarm angle helps keep the front more steady on hard drives. Maybe you can try that on your RSV4
@SteveC-Shaman3 ай бұрын
@@superduked33 Thanks for the advice and you're right, I am now maxxed out on shock length and at roughly 25mm rear sag. It helped but in 1st gear off the tighter hairpins - bearing in mind that it will still do 80mph in 1st gear without tickling the redline, I need the drive. It's just a thing with that bike, others have had similar issues. Another is that it really likes to run wide if you're not aggressive with it, which I might play with steering head angle to try and make less prominent. That said I've been able to drive deeper into corners on the brakes than anyone I've been up against, so it's working well if you push it to that extreme. I don't want to give that up. Anyway, I appreciate you GoGo ... great channel and terrific work.

This is such a great presentation. Your enthusiasm and results are gonna sell some Super Dukes! I’ve always left my traction control engaged and then added or removed wheelie control per the mood. Did you, or can you, leave wheelie control in place while turning off traction control?

@superduked Gogo, really appreciate your content, gave me so much knowledge about sdr on track! Its golden. Do you think gen 1 is still has some merit on track and club races for a medium speed rider? I haven’t had any issues with abs on track despite hearing many horror stories about abs on earlier bmw s1000rr failing to brake on bumpy straights. Any suggestions for setup? Appreciate it. Impossible to find any information related to racing gen 1. Much appreciated

Could you tell me more about the fork setup? I am thinking of getting the maxton shock and the variable linkage from your site, as well as the variable angle triple clamp. Going to start with a plus 20 on the standard shock, while I wait for the maxton to be sorted. Really looking forward to getting it on track. Way to go with the races ! Looking smooth and fast.

It's comforting, the idea of electronics saving you from launching yourself to the moon, but it also makes something that should be really difficult, easy. Or at least easIER. I may never used it again.
@SteveC-Shaman3 ай бұрын
Those bikes can be controlled by GPS as to how much traction control they get, and are much more sensitive than the stock setup you'll find on the KTM (though it's actually quite good, it lets you even slide the bike a little). So a real GP bike runs without traction control for the most part, and it's metered in when the GPS knows that the bike is in specific corners with high resolution. It's so good compared to what you buy in the dealerships that you see them go into corners full-throttle and full brake at the same time and let the computer figure it out.
@99gpandy283 ай бұрын
@ShamanWS6 on what corners do moto GP bikes go in on full throttle holding the brake at same time ! I know they use rear thumb brake to limit wheelies on exit, same in superbikes .

@@superduked33 I've never ridden a bike with traction control hard into corners ,but wheelies on my mates ZX 10 /2011 mod traction control made it sketchy to wheelie ,Would like too try it on a track with late model bike too see if I'm faster with or without it 👍
