Love it! The video quality and the driving are insane! I am also amazed by the lack of grip of the rear end, it is faster this way?? However it's the most spectacular way! Even if the car looks very predictable, it's so frightening especially in narrow sectors. Massive thanks for the video

It was on muddy road. Also the car had classic tyres due to regulation. It finished 5th or 6th overall.

@MrJM540 Жыл бұрын
@@256k_oh man neither did I. Could any racing maniac out there explain this to us?
@jonathanvoss5168 Жыл бұрын
@@MrJM540to change gear without the clutch is possible in any manual but much easier with a dog engagement box like this, with no synchromesh. To change up you must slightly lift off the throttle to unload the dogs so you can disengage the gear, then the revs will drop slightly so (hopefully) match the speed for the next gear and slot in, then full throttle again. To change down is the reverse. It’s much easier with completion engines and gearboxes as they tend to have a closer ratios so the engine speed is much closer between gears. Also the engines tend to have much lower rotating mass so can rev up and down much quicker. As I said above, the dog engagement also makes it easier. In reality to change up with a car like this becomes as simple as very quickly lifting partially off the throttle for a split second almost as if your leg twitched, while moving the gear stick firmly to the next gear. You can do it in road cars but it generally takes a lot longer than just changing with the clutch

Crazy how he's slipping the gears going up and down.
@garyrowe58 Жыл бұрын
I'd wondered why he always went through each gear on the way down, then saw he was keeping his left foot on the brake pedal at all times (except for when using handbrake, of course ;) and then realised it was so he could always rely on his rev matching and the dog box ... It's so satisfying to watch, he is so in control. A truly brilliant driver.

Litres of sweat, a bottle of adrenalin and meters of burnt nerves - pure sounds of the car only take precisely to the cockpit, almost feeling the steering wheel in hands. p.s.: Yet absence of radio log makes it look like co-driver is slowly reading his notebook cause rallying is boring to the death :)
