TRIP REPORT | We Fly the Overpowered Plane! | CONDOR B757 | Mallorca to Dusseldorf

Condor Trip Report flying from Palma de Mallorca to Dusseldorf onboard one of the amazing Condor Boeing 757 (-300 version) on a perfect summer afternoon over all Europe and, especially, in the Balearic Islands.
A great flight experience with Condor onboard their perfect Boeing 757-300W from Mallorca to Dusseldorf. The whole experience was great: the check-in process in Mallorca was super-smooth, the boarding was nice and the onboard experience was at the Condor standard. The flight finished with a great night approach over Dusseldorf with completely clear skies, which allowed us to have perfect night views of Dusseldorf downtown, just before landing at Dusseldorf airport.
The pre-ordered meal (roasted beef with potatoes and cheese, together with a vegetable mix) was very nice as well. It was delicious! It was worth every single euro I paid for it! I really can recommend that one! For sure it will be my choice for future flights with Condor.
The plane we flew on this trip is the amazing Boeing 757. In the video, we discuss a little about why the Boeing 757 wasn't so successful as it should have been and also about the fact that it's "overpowered". I think you will learn some interesting facts about the Boeing 757 while you enjoy the Trip Report :)
All in all, a very comfortable flight onboard the Condor Boeing 757 from Mallorca to Dusseldorf. The Boeing 757 is, together with the Boeing 767, one of the last representatives of the Old School Aviation. An age where the engine noise wasn't so important. An era where the jet engines roar was epic every day.

Great upload! Looked like a comfy 757-300! Must have been a very enjoyable flight 😊 I flew on an Arkia one from the old Eilat city centre airport. The plane had noooo problem rotating and climbing like rocket off the short runway!! Those RR engines are beasts and provide the plane with enormous amounts of power! Would like to fly one again. Probably Icelandair since there’s a couple in their fleet.

Last 757 I was on was with America West. Still my favorite plane. FedEx flies one over my house daily at 2030, I know it’s bedtime when it does. Nice and loud. Love it.

Hasta hace poco, en una agencia de viajes de Teruel, tenían puesta en el escaparate una maqueta de un A320-200 de Turkish, matrícula TC-JPA. Cuando investigué la matrícula, era en efecto un A320-232 de Turkish. Me quedé bastante sorprendido de que correspondiese a un avión auténtico de la flota de la aerolínea turca jeje parece que hace ya tiempo que no vuela...

Aunque estén fabricados en serie, yo creo que cada aparato tiene su propio espíritu y es único en su especie. Una profesora de inglés, que también daba clases a controladores aéreos, se extrañaba de cómo hablaban con los aviones. “Es que no hablamos a objetos; llevan personas”

Un gran avión el 757 en sus dos versiones, un avión muy cómodo, ideal para aeropuertos en ciudades altas como lo es CDMX, volé muchas veces la ruta CDMX- Mexicali en México con la desaparecida Mexicana de Aviación, lástima que se dejó de producir el 757 de los mejores aviones que fabricó Boeing.

Hey, even though the RB211 is the same base model as on the 767, it is a quite different Version with a much smaller Fan and even less Compressor stages. That means the RB211 on the 757 has a take off thrust of 189kN and that one on the 767 has 264kN. It was not very popular on the 767 because the high maintenance costs, higher weight and a relative Low MCT. So, yes 757 with RR is a bit high powered but you cannot say its the same engine like on the 767 :)

An Aviastar Tupolev TU-204 (RA-64032) caught fire at Hangzhou airport (HGH) during pushback. It should have performed cargo flight 4B-6534 from Hangzhou to Novosibirsk. The 8 person crew was evacuated safely.

Aún siendo un avión que tiene un cuarto de siglo en sus alas, se conserva en muy buena forma y los 757 son uno de los mejores aviones en cuánto a desempeño de todos, es como el Ferrari de los aviones de pasajeros por su alta tasa de empuje-peso y el récord de mayor altura de despegue con pasajeros y combustible completo en la actualidad, es muy utilizado en latinoamérica para los aeropuertos más altos como lo son Ciudad de México, Tegucigalpa, Lima, Bogotá entre otros aeropuertos cuya altura sobrepasa los 7000 pies sobre el nivel del mar, a mí me fascina este avión por su esbelta figura y poderosos motores Rolls Royce RB211 o Pratt & Whitney PW2000 y otra cosa que lo sepultó fué la competencia con el Airbus A321 que aún siendo inferior que el 757 era más económico y de más fácil mantenimiento lo que repercutió en su caída de producción, excelente video y saludos desde Venezuela

Regarding the signs at PMI, isn't Lavabos and Aseos the same thing? I mean, I know that languages have multiple words for one thing, but surely if you speak Spanish you know both versions, or is that different? And then suddenly at 11:20 it only says it in three languages? AENA signs seem to be really inconsistent, like at LPA where the German translation for Gate on some signs is just "Gate" which is correct, but then on some signs it says "Flugsteige" which is also correct and then I saw a sign with the literal translation "Tore" which would just be if I said "Door" instead of Gate. It annoys me so much, how much money they spent on main the signs and then doing it so inconsistent.

Yeah, they are more or less the same. At an airport they are absolutely the same :) At Mallorca airport, they usually put everything in Spanish, Catalan, English, and German.

Overpowered perhaps, but based! The 757 was Boeing at its best. They should have (and still could) updated it instead of retiring it. It can outmaneuver any Airbus even now. And it does things even the newer generation 737s can't do. Its engines and overall design just needed a little tweaking to modernize them. I love all the classic Boeing jetliners, but the 757 is my runaway favorite. I love its old school look, and its roaring, screaming engines.
