**UPDATE** for those who are curious.. i misspoke slightly because some of the information i got straight from the devs but actually isn't in the game. Breeding is something that's going to be added this coming season. and for the meat and hides u get from these animals u have to slaughter them. hopefully this changes in the future the devs told me several things are going to be optimized and new feature on top of breeding are planned to be added to expand on this feature.

We need to petition Netease to add corn and wheat to the "grain concentrate feed" its ridiculous that the other feeds have so many options to craft but that one is limited to Honeysuckle or Sage. Also wouldn't recommend having animals without a decent farming setup/growshroom. They eat SO MUCH FEED.

a helpfull tip that saves you abit of animal feed and youre animal potentialy getting unhappy and running off,if you are ofline for a long period of time before you log of call youre animals back into youre backpack and they wont lose anny hunger or hydration on there meter,ones you log back on put them in there pen and all stats are fine but the happynis resets to 50% but with the right food its back up to 100% in about 20 min.

Helpful tips - Animals will glitch out of their pens constantly, if you do not capture them and put them back, they will die quickly! and all the work you did to capture will be lost. You just need to click on on of your animals and press H to put them back in your backpack to get them back to their pens.

In the lore of the game, they say Starfall accelerates food spoilage. So don't hold out hope of them increasing the baseline. But I would expect more/better preservation methods in the future. Another tip to avoid spoilage is to leave your dishes in your kitchen set for as long as possible because they won't start spoiling until they're claimed from the crafting queue.

you can put foundations under water, put a column up out of the water, ceiling tile over ^.^ (instead of moving your whole base jus due to water depth, unless that's what you'd prefer anyway, jus figured i'd mention)

No need to recall to feed. 1. put a 100 stack of water in trough as well as pack it full of food 2. Now place down the animal 3. You wont need to feed again before its over 20% at which point they wont attack you anymore.

theres noway to say this without sounding negitive but the taming system is cool just dont see the value in it. tbh both food/hide are such ez resoures to get and the demand for them isnt high alot of the best food doesnt use meat and if it does its canned food so you can just bulk farm once and never have to again. b4 wipe i had 100 of each canned food buff took 1 day of farming and by wipe i barley even made a dent in them i just dont see the value may be something im missing.

i think we wont know its true potential until a few more days when they become fully tamed. being able to bring a massive bear with you into a fight could be a big dmg boost. im curious to see how effective they become.

@@Glitchiz It seems you can only place tames within your Territory so sadly you can't have a fully tamed S Tier Bear in your inventory to throw out in a Boss fight, Silo, etc... Currently only seems useful for Base Defense with Bears, Wolves, Crocs or tame Goats, Deer, etc.. to slaughter for meat, hides. I go to Red Sands teleporter by Oil Fields and Blackfell trader POI and just kill loads of Rams, Ewe, for slow HP Regen Food and have Farm for Honeysuckle for slow HP regen Drinks like Iced Tea, Fruit Tea.

You dont need the tranq arrows nor a weapon. just pop Spectral Canned Mushroom and run up to the animals, stun them and loot. done.

i dont think so.those types of trait are for the animal themselves when they are attacking for you within your territory. this may change in the future though the devs have said there is allot more features for animal taming they still have to add so im hoping character buffs will be a part of that.

Hi just if anyone does see this and knows the answers,I have like 3 wolves rn I have 2 that are low and one that's around 30% tame,so like it started off in a pen and got out,the lower ones I've been keeping an eye on but the 30% one I've just been letting roam around,is that ok or should I build a perm pen for it? I just leave the feeding thing outside the house for it.

For now none of the animals provide anything and I tamed 3 to lvl 80. It seems "provide" is for the breeding system and then you kill them to have the ressources.

That being said some of them currently aren’t making sense like attack type buffs on an animal that doesn’t attack etc… so I think these features will change in upcoming patches cuz the devs told me they have allot of things gs they r expanding on for all this taming stuff

Be careful when pressing H to get rid of low rank animals. I had bug where it got rid of all my tamed animals, 4 S ranked. i would recommend just discarding them.

So how do you get the resources? Do you kill them or the children? This feels like an after thought they added. Feels like a real waste of resources and not practical. That limit to how many animals you can have, needs to be 50 for it to be useful. With only 6 or 10, you can only have 2 or 3 breeding pairs if they are to get offspring. I think they need to rethink this feature.

I thought breeding came later!? Either way, those benefits you mention at the end about getting things like rawhide - where is that stored? Do you pick it up by interacting with the animal or? I haven't tried any of this yet and just trying to be as prepared as possible.

You pick it up by slaughtering the animal with a sharp knife. Acidic meat makes them produce 30 acid on slaughter, Thick hides makes them give you more rawhide etc etc - some animals like crocs have "byproducts" which you can collect from them every 8h (I got croc eggs). I think many of the perks are badly worded to suggest they are give you a bonus, really they are informing you of the specific bonus of increased hide/meat/chance to acquire rare meat/acid which are upon slaughter of the animal with the perk.

@@Glitchiz I haven't seen anything about being able to summon them outside your own territory but I didn't even read the patch notes lol. I have only really played with bears crocs and rabbits but can confirm animals with 'acidic meat' perk give 30 acid at 100% tameness and prestine meat only seems to come from animals with the perk to provide it. I had 6 rabbits with the perks to provide acid, prestine meat, extra hide/meat yield and received none killing animals in the wild and I killed hundreds. Upon slaughter I got extra hide/meat/acid and prestine rabbit meat.

If they r in ur inventory and u use them I believe u can summon them and they will fight with you once u call them to ur side with the whistle. Can’t 100% confirm that yet though since mine aren’t tamed high enough yet. Just going off what some devs mentioned

You didn't go over the animals you can't catch (there are many) and alot of other crucial information. Also you should talk about how the animals leave their pens when you move your base.
