It’s a shame she couldn’t be rebuilt. Traveled across it years ago on a steam train excursion ❤

Most excellent and informative presentation. I was able to walk across the fully intact Kinzua Viaduct many years ago; it was quite an experience. I look forward to a future visit to the the remaining section and wandering about the tornado strewn ruins in the valley. Thanks for posting.

Been there a couple times. Definitely worthwhile. It's nice that they left the wreckage in place so you can understand what happened.

Good video with good information I live just 9 miles from the bridge. That was an oil well with a jack that would have went to a power house by a metal rod that could be a few hundred feet long back back to the power house

Highest at the time of its opening, but anymore. Southern Pacific's Pecos River bridge is 322' high and still in use by the Union Pacific. Vance Creek bridge on the former Simpson Timber logging RR near Shelton WA was 2nd highest, no longer in service.

If im not mistaken the original Pecos River bridge was also constructed by the Phoenix Bridge Company.

@@aaronb1300 yea. I saw that. I just couldn't do it. But i unexpectedly found myself an hour and a half or so from home in Moosic. So got to creep around steam town for a few hours on a chilly morning. Before pretty much anyone was there. Then went back in the afternoon.

Too bad the truth isn't being told why the storm was able to topple the bridge!😺

What do you think is not the truth I live just 9 miles from it. The only towers that did not fall was the ones that was worked on and strengthen on both ends and the scaffolding that was being used was also left in place in the debris Please let me know whats not the truth
