It should have been like in the fairy’s tale. They put her in a glass coffin. They are all prepared to say good bye and Henry opens the coffin. He starts talking to his mum, telling her he can’t live without her but he understands why she did what she did and he promises her to follow after her steps and be a hero. He opens the glass coffin giving her one final goodbye kiss whispering “I love you mum” and Emma wakes up

A beautiful ending only they should have made it more powerful by letting some time pass. Gideon is returned while everyone thinks Emma is dead. We have a scene of the next morning. Everyone is preparing for the funeral, Belle is comforting Snow, Charming checks up on Hook who is in their house going through Emma’s stuff, Zelena is with Regina. Henry comes to Snow’s home where Emma is in a glass coffin. Belle leaves and Henry asks if he could have a minute. He starts talking to his mum and breaks in tears telling her how unfair this is. He admits he thought of using the pen to bring her back but he knows it is wrong. He wipes his tears promising he will do right by her and will not let the pain turn him into something he is not. He opens the glass coffin, giving his mother one final goodbye kiss, whispering “I love you mum” and Emma wakes up

When Gideon is restored think it’s also symbolic of all the children the Black fairy stole and them being returned to their proper realms and times including Gideon’s friend who she killed since her realm and the alternate timeline ceases to exist. Plus once everyone is restored, what was happening under her curse happened to her realm

If Gideon killed Emma, darkness wins. If Emma killed Gideon then she would darken herself & darkness would still win. It was a trap and they needed a third way. That third way was sacrifice and Emma standing down sacrificing herself showed selfless love that caused light to win.

Yeah and it's a bit stupid here. Emma was struck by a sword. Yes her Magic got released because it was Hrunting, but it was a natural death. She wasn't cursed. True Live Kiss breaks curses, it doesn't restore life. Emma should have stayed dead. The point of the story was the Savior is destined to die to save others. I'm also not a fan of Gideon returning to baby mode. It ruins his character. The guy loses all his experiences, even if they were very painful, but it still was his life. And what about the children in the Dark Realm? We should have him return to his parents' side after his battle with Emma. See him cry in their arms because he killed her and didn't want to. Rumple and Belle hugging him and telling him that they forgive him, that he is innocent and shouldn't blame himself. Rumple giving Gideon's heart back for real this time. Gideon worrying about the children in the Dark Realm, and feeling a greater need to have them as he blames himself because of Emma's death. Rumple and Belle decides to help him and go to Reul Ghorm to gain access to the Dark Realm in order to save those children. Now that would be a great story arc.

Honestly it's sweet and all and I did like the ending of season 6 (which in my opinion was a better place to end than S7), it's just kinda disappointing that the final battle between two powerful magic users was a simple sword fight. Loved this show so much (still do), just wish it was higher budget so it could have been an epic magic battle.

Here's my theory- her light magic from being the product of true love and the saviour prevents her from being killed. Which is why there was a blast of it when she was stabbed. But obviously what it did do was knock her into a sleeping curse which Henry then broke with true loves kiss, so yes i think you are right

@@thenexus7343 actually no, she was meant to die. That is the role of the Savior, dying so that others may live. Besides True Love Kiss breaks curses, it doesn't bring life back. Between Emma coming back to life because reasons, Gideon returning into baby mode, therefore ruining who he is, and the whole Emma's belied sustain the Fairy Tale Lands, which is impossible as those Lands existed before she was born, the whole plot was terribly written. The only thing as usual who was well written was Rumple. Rumple also has a hood reason behind every action he takes, even if those reason are not made apparent.

@@SchultzDorinda Not at all. The Fairy Tale Lands good magic side sent their magic into Emma at birth to reprogram the curse that was about to be unleashed. That magic interacted with the curse, and made it reset each time, because all the final fights with the villains of the Lands all had to be settled outside The Fairy Tale Lands to prevent total destruction of each realm as each final battle was fought. This is that plan fulfilled, because she was meant to be in all the final battles of all the stories. This is basically how Greek myth works. Each myth about them represents a cycle of stories. The good side realised they could use that mechanism of story telling to assist in their troubles.

That's always been the case. They keep repeating the mantra "magic has a price" - except for 99.99999% of the time villains are using it. Meanwhile the moment a hero starts using it consequences are flying about like bullets during the Omaha Beach scene in Saving Private Ryan. In short this series has always sent a terrible message about the good guys having to toe the line or else while the bad guys do as they like for most of the time without any consequence.

@@mnomadvfx the thing that always annoyed me the most what the "will they won't they" type of plot line between Gold and Belle, like these people managed to keep that tired dynamic even though they got married and right until the end. Like it was a constant "gold is morally ambiguous, belle wants him to be her definition of good" *gold does something or belle finds out about something he did AGES ago* "you're still evil I'm leaving!!😤" *Gold is heartbroken and confused and responds in anger but then eventually returns to normal ambiguity now with bells and whistles* "belle returns saying she "knew he had it in him" next season we do it all again.

This whole fight with the black fairy and Gideon, i think is Belle’s fault. If she would have let Rumple use the shears on Gideon, he would have grew up with a father and a mother, not the black fairy. Then Gideon wouldn’t have had these visions of killing Emma, all just for the Black fairy to kill Emma. This is just my oppinion though.
