Il ricordo come categoria dello spirito. Questo cinema che non morira' mai. A quasi quarant'anni dalla sua uscita, la potenza e la bellezza di "C'era una volta in America" resta intatta. Sergio Leone ha vinto sul Tempo, grande protagonista del suo cinema altissimo.

Yeah. I think that's the point of the story. Max was greedy and cared more about traditional success. Noodles wanted to be with his friends and got played.

What a masterful ending ... Noodles only will refer to Max as Mr. Bailey .. Mr Bailey will only refer to David as Noodles. Noodles realizes this isn't Max anymore but someone else so that is why he refuses to acknowledge him. In his flashback he has a good memory of his friends and his friendship with Max - that is what he wants to hold on to. And that is why he is able to just walk away and in a sense with some sort of closure ..

Secondo me questo film può piacere veramente solo alle persone a cui sta davvero a cuore l'amicizia. È palese che sia l'amicizia ed il ricordo dell'amicizia e dell'amore ad essere il protagonista di questo film.

This is and will always be (to me) the best movie of the 1980s. There's just so many amazing things about this movie, especially the cinematography and score by the late maestro Morricone.
