I am from Turkey. I'm 22 years old and I cry every time I listen to this song. When I was a kid, I watched movies with my father every night. I remember the old days. I see how painfully human beings are losing their humanity day by day. I see how meaninglessly emotions disappear. This is very embarrassing for us. I try to nourish my soul by watching these beautiful movies and listening to these beautiful songs.

The editing by the producers distroyed the movie ... and it was a commercial flop and it was pushed away from any competition; in the complete version it's a masterpiece. Morricone made a lot of soundracks that deserved to be awarded (the mission, the untouchables, nuovo cinema paradiso, Malena, a lot of italian movies of the '60s and '70s... but for some strange reason it was never fully considered.

That is the magic behind the music we seek when the pain comes along. We all know it, and we all have to listen, when we are facing the terrible silence, after love closed the door. Do we learn, ohh yes we do, we open our hearts for a new wonderful feeling, that is the hope, we must never let go. When I was very young, a wonderful man stood in front of me, and the ground dissapeared under my feeds. It was not ment to be, and I cryed for so long, until another man came along, and took my broken heart in his hands, and suddenly I was apple to love again, and the past was gone for good.....and the tears dryed out....thank God for a loving man......

One of the most brilliant movies in film history. I've thought about this film almost every day since I saw it a few months ago. I really feel it's so intellectually important, so profound - even as it's using irony to shatter 20 different narrative tropes of American cinema at once. But the movie is not so much anti-narrative as it is a critique of narrative itself: there's the myth of the treasures of old America, the myth that the past is better than the present, the myth of the gangster as an underdog, the myth of rugged individualism, etc. Why all these myths? Human beings are natural story-tellers. Every culture has a founding myth of where their people came from. Every human has a story they're telling about themselves in their head. As Deborah said, "All we have are our memories." But by us actively choosing to focus on some memories and not others, based only on what we consider to be important at the time, what we call our "life story" is just that - a story. When we become like Noodles by reclaiming authorship over our life story, when we don't let outside circumstances determine our happiness - the way Noodles didn't let Max determine his - then we will know an exalted state of freedom that transcends the confines of ordinary storytelling in contemporary society.

I have been wanting to write my point of view for quite sometime. Firstly, I watched this movie some 5 or 6 years ago, back then I could not capture the essence of the movie. Subsequently, I researched about the movie and most importantly it's director, "The Maestro" Sergio Leone. This was his last feature film and was also the last of his "once upon a time" Trilogy. Honestly, I would say the movie and it's direction are something which are "once in a lifetime" things, truly befitting it's title. All the aspects of the human emotions and relationships are superbly captured in the film and you would wonder why didn't you watched this earlier or whether your life was a waste before watching this masterpiece. The closest thing which comes close to this masterpiece is "Novacento" , made by his paisan Bernardo Bertolucci. The soundtrack provided by "The" Ennio Morricone is splendid and I am sure it will be with you for rest of your lives. Every piece of the movie is superbly enacted. But the highlight for me is the way in which Dominic says to Noodles while dying on the Manhattan Bridge that "Noodles, I slipped" , it surely gets me every time I watch the movie.

R.I.P one of the most important legends in the history of music, a man who made the most iconic and beautiful music pieces,a man who improve and made better soundtracks with the pass of the years, a man that, without his music the movies we saw would be different... We will miss you. Me: Daniel Vazquez,Mexico City

I really hope so, learning of just a few of the unmade projects by Leone makes me even more sad that he passed away so early, but you know what I have a feeling those two good friends are up there making some beautiful and fun things for everyone to enjoy🙏🏼

Fantastic movie and superb soundtrack. This soundtrack has it all....the kid's music, the sound of the guy playing his little flute, and Deborah's song. Simply beautiful.

Hey iI´m Jörg from Germany, for me Age 58 is this the best Movie ever. Everythink is fantastic , the Acters ,the Locations, the Furnishing and at last the famous and unbelievebal Musik from Mr. Morricone. I'm always very withdrawn if I see "my" Movie. It is loving and crying together

@@partouche3000 I love your comment about you cat you named noodle. It fits so much to this kids ( in the movie) wild cats that became tigers growing up That makes me think about this group of friends real clan or gang In the bad times and the good times And also the betrayed of one strong sebjects friendship , brotherhood, suffering , and betrayal Very strong , like biblical in a way Yes again a masterpiece Joy and sense of humor also That we don’t find that much in the godfather Another master piece But much darker and realistic I guess , which is ok for me The big difference, if we can compare those movies , is the soundtrack Francis Coppola didn’t have ennio Morricone ….

Mamma mia, da brividi. Mi immagino Leone quanto ha chiesto al maestro Morricone, se era pronta la colonna sonora? Si, senti se ti piace. Avrei voluto essere li´ per vedere il viso, stupefatto di Leone.
