The movie had a powerful impact on me because of its instant nostalgia quality that tugged at my heart as if it were a fond memory of mine. It’s hard to describe but it was a powerful feeling that Sergio was capable of making

This was so cool to watch, it's like catching up with two old friends you haven't seen in a very long time... I loved it! Also OUATIA is probably my favorite film, truly a masterpiece that deserves the "they don't make 'em like that anymore" comment. Sergio Leone should've lived to 100! But he is always mentioned as one of the greatest directors to ever live...

My opinion is that Scott Tiler gave that special light to one of the most beautiful movie of ever and with the greatest of ever Robert de Niro.Scott:you are a great Actor so why didn't you go ahead?Alltheway i am very sure that many new actors will come out from your actor school where they have this great luck to can have you as their teacher.Supercongratulations and thank you so much for your great interpretation in this unforgottable movie.

It always seemed so clever how their young characters resembled James Woods and Robert Deniro characters so well. The casting was meticulous, they must have gone through hundreds to find the right ones. They don't look too different now than they did as kids, (tho nothing like the stars), I really appreciate this gem. Thanks for posting

I never thought that young Noodles (Scott Tiler) came close to resembling Robert Deniro. Maybe that's why they spent so much attention on young Noodles' mole....

Specifically the setting of New York, in particular Old New York - Leone captures it so well. Back then in the late 80's even early 90's it was still there to be seen. Unfortunately that version that motif of New York its gone. From the exterior of the buildings being replaced with new high rises to more importantly the people, native New Yorkers - truly all in the past now.
@frankiemontero
@frankiemontero 3 жыл бұрын
No, it's not. They're still many buildings from that time period that still stand and the inside stairs, ceilings and walls are from the early 1900's and They're still there. Especially down in Chinatown, the Village and Lower East Side. It definitely was much easier to capture that New York in the early 80s. It does look like Lego Land now lol and doing a wide shot of old New york is out the window at this point haha but many Native New Yorkers like myself are still here, swarmed by transplants, but still here. Talk to the doormen, the garbage men and city workers, maintence workers, truck drivers- They're all native New Yorkers. We're here, hidden under all the bullshit...

Only a great filmmaker as Sergio Leone can turn a average gangster novel and NY streets into an magical epic movie that touches many inner emotions. A movie that never gets old that i personally consider a Masterpiece , in my childhood Leone was my hero and stands with Orson Welles among the best Directors of the past century .

Rusty is solid and genuine. He's personable and friendly. He'll sign autograph's and let you take his picture, Scott Tiler on the other hand is the complete opposite of Rusty. He's unfriendly and distant and not a genuine person.

@@fernandomaron87 I met Rusty once in the 90's, spoke with him briefly. He's very affable around others. Scott is probably a good guy towards his own friends but is definitely not fan friendly and has always kept his distance. He worked at the actors building on Pico Blvd near me and believe me when I say he isn't even interested in signing any memorabilia from his films, he doesn't want anyone contacting him, stopping him on the street and bothering him.
