I assume that was to be run during the credits instead of the Rick Dalton one. It would have been a cool Easter Egg if Burt Reynolds had actually lived to appear in the film. A nice litte nod and a wink to the audience. Probably safe to assume that was the sum total of James' involvement in the movie and he didn't film scenes with the rest of the cast?

@Dazza B. There's more footage of Lee training Tate and more of him training Sebring. I believe there's an extended El Coyote scene and more ads. There's also a few more minutes of Lancer, Bounty Law, and Italy. Also more footage of Booth on the boat with his wife. The opening scene at Musso and Franks is about twice as long and there's a scene at Schwarz's house with his wife. You mention the extended Spahn Ranch scene. There are more Manson members in it.

@@elikronen4024 I compiled this very close to the original release and before we had the DVD extras, so a lot more has came to light since then. Jay had a ten minute monologue in El Coyote which was cut. I assume Abigail and Wojciech had some more lines there too. There's also a second Hullabaloo performance where Rick sings 'Don't Fence Me In' dressed as Jake Cahill. And I was spot-on about the Trudi phoning Rick. Also later in that second evening Sharon and Roman have a party where Rick watches the guests arriving and speaks to Steve McQueen as he's waiting to be let in the gates. There's just tons more I could add.

The only scene Manson appears in in the final cut is impressive. He does not introduce himself, but somehow he makes Sharon and Jay shrink to comedy's characters. Only Tarantino could vehicle his demoniac charisma like that. I was very impressed.

At the Grammy Museum last week, Quentin talked about his original plan for the Wrecking Crew scenes. He talked about Sharon having a great entrance in that movie(where she stumbles) and he originally wanted to film the leading up to that and show Sharon preparing for it and being nervous and nailing it and the entire crew applauding her. If you remember Danny Strong was announced as Dean Martin before. While it didn't sound like he filmed, either, it kind of give insight why there was a casting for Dean in the first place.
@DzaVideo
@DzaVideo 5 жыл бұрын
@Just a Bruin Cool! I guessed if Tarantino was incorporating Dean Martin it would have been to recreate a scene from The Wrecking Crew. It sounds like the scene would serve a similar pupose to the cinema scene. Sharon is a little insecure but receives validation from an audience - albeit in the cinema as opposed to on the set. I'm sure I read somewhere that as Debra owns Sharon's Estate, she has to give her permission for footage of Sharon to be used. Perhaps Tarantino reaching out to her and her giving the project her blessing was the turning point which changed how dealt with the inclusion of The Wrecking Crew?

@justabruin 5 жыл бұрын
@@jdh6752 it is an extended Lancer scene. Julia Butters talk to Clifton Collins Jr. when a wagon pulls up. The Morricone horns start up and out steps Luke Perry in a sky blue suit and top hat. He dusts himself off in semi slo-mo and obviously caring about his "look." Then steps out Timothy Olyphant adjusting his look too. Julia Butters is excited and tells the Lancer brothers that she is their sister. The scene very much plays like Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum a bit, showing the brothers a bit goofy. Tim Olyphant even asks Julia Butters "whooo are youuu" which I swear is a nod to Alice in Wonderland (Luke Perry looks like the Mad Hatter in his get-up). Clifton Collins Jr. (Acting like a human horse ) lifts Julia Butters and she starts giving the brothers advice. They all get on a wagon and then the director tells cut and tells Julia Butters she is his muse, even saying "Hayley Mills, eat your heart out!" That was about it but I def think it is a great scene to include.

Actually, wong way around. It was Austin Powers who looked like Polanski. Roman actually wore an outfit like that in 1968, so it was him who did it first!

Wish we got to see Tim Roth’s scene. We can read it in the book and see a still image of him in the pictures that come with the book, but it’s not the same as watching the scene. There are obviously differences between the film and book, but I’m just wondering how similar the scene actually plays like in the film compared to the part of the book his character appears in.
