If this movie has to win just one Academy Award, it should be for Best Production Design. Untouchable in terms of sheer scale, just for their "turning back time" on Hollywood Blvd ALONE not to mention Spahn Ranch being completely built from scratch amongst other things. Amazing.

Barbara Ling will absolutely take the gold home for this film come Oscar season. The fact that they built these sets to bring 1960s Hollywood boulevard back to life is a feat in itself. No CGI whatsoever was used for these sets. That's incredible.
@TylerOnMute5 жыл бұрын
I'm very sure that they used CG to, at least, remove buildings from shots that did not exist at the time.
@Bluemgwes5 жыл бұрын
Tyler Hunter as anti CGI as Tarantino is, it seems to me that for any of the Hollywood Blvd shots, the background was too out of focus or they angled it so you wouldn’t see the other buildings. A lot of attention and care to detail in this movie. They also used miniatures for the Pan-Am airplane shots and for the Van Nuys Drive-In.

For the amount of work and detail they've put, the world in this movie feels very small and constraining, almost like a tv show episode with 3 locations.
