I love what Jen said back then about Emma and Hook being kindred spirits and how they saw elements of themselves of each other. It was very easy to feel that connection from the beanstalk episode onwards.

Who didn't see an evil Peter Pan coming? I mean, we know the writers like to twist stories so it was kinda obvious that a teenager that sneaked in children's windows at night to take them away would turn out to be evil. I think there is another mythical being, the pooka, who does that. It's a black horse that take people away during the night and they either end up dead (trampled, trown off a cliff etc.) or come back changed forever.
