In my opinion the first two seasons in general were the best. Until 2x16, until Cora died, the show was amazing. Then it started to crumble down a bit until 3x11 and since Season 3B there are plot holes everywhere and the story is just not written well.

At this point Henry & Emma would have only known each other for 2 days but they're truly connected & bonded here. I don't think the same can be said with Regina even though she raised him for 10 years. This is why we keep seeing Emma & Henry's bond being stronger compared to his & Regina. Even though I can tell in the end he loves both his mums a lot and equally. However at least in the first 3 seasons Regina couldn't show what true love is. Obsession to own someone completely by being possessive isn't true love and Henry can see that. I genuinely really enjoy Emma & Henry's relationship throughout the series. She truly was an amazing mum from the moment she gave birth to him. She was 18, alone and in jail so that was such a selfless motherly act she did. She could have left Storybrooke after dropping him off but as soon as she saw her son wasn't happy she stayed despite the uphill battle with Regina. Definitely one of the best mother -son combos between Jen & Jared. I heard in real life they're still very close to this day

From the outside looking in, Henry does look like a very troubled child. He seems to have made up a story about why Snow let Emma go to justify why Emma let him go, so that Emma can forgive herself and take him away from Regina.

He wasn’t born in the enchanted forest, he was born in Arizona. He’s a part of the real world. Therefore he’s not affected by the curse.

@@pjthedj3137 to be even more technical, he wasn't in the enchanted forest when the curse was enacted. That's how August was aware of the curse even though he was born/made there.
