I really wish we would’ve gotten a scene with Cora and Eva together now. Like in the underworld or something. Barbara Hershey’s portrayal of Cora is chilling but I get the feeling Eva ain’t exactly a push over either. It’d be cool to see them riff off each other, especially with both their daughters being friends now.

I know Eva wasn't the best person in her youth, and Cora has the right to be angry, but this was just wrong. She matured and she tried to make sure Snow wouldn't follow in her footsteps. All Cora was trying to accomplish here was to turn Snow into a new young Eva. That's why the woman could never be happy.

In the original Grimms fairy tale, her mother is the villain, they only replaced the mother with a stepmother because the Grimm Brothers thought it was too cruel for a mother to kill their own kid, same with Hansel and Gretel Death in Childbirth was quite common in the era where the Snow White fairytale was written in, so in a way in makes sense for her mother to die in childbirth and her father to remarry, it was considered normal for men to take second wife’s if their first wife died young and in childbirth

This scene was pure revenge, and it is very warranted. Snows mom ruined her Chanes at marrying the king before her and tripped her when she was at her low as the miller's girl. Made her kneel.

@@Puppetgirl93 Exactly. Cora hated Eva because she overheard Jonathan blackmail Cora since Cora was pregnant with his child (Zelena). Jonathan gloated over young Cora's stupidity, naiveté and her ambition/hope to marry into Royalty; thinking that Jonathan was the Prince (and he purposely duped her). Cora was going to pay him off by stolen jewels but Eva exposed everything to Leopold; humiliating Cora and forcing Cora back to poverty and destitution. That's why she gave up Zelena. Then to add insult to injury, Eva purposely trips Cora when Cora was delivering flour from their mill to the palace and is forced to publicly bow and apologize to Eva after Cora calls her out and insults her. It's there that Cora vows revenge against Eva, who by now is engaged to Leopold. Cora then of course learns magic from Rumple, ends up marrying Prince Henry (out of power not love) and begins grooming Regina to be queen. Even before Regina is born Cora groused that Henry is 5th in line to his father's throne. Now that she had the ability to learn magic, she would set her sights on another kingdom and another throne.

Yes, it was mentioned in Season 1’s episode The Stable Boy- I guess the writers didn’t think about the timeline of how long Eva was dead when Leopold married Regina

@@Puppetgirl93 It's not really a trip up on the show's continuity. I agree with you.. they "made it up as they went along". But it could be feasible. Snow would have been about 6-8 when her mother died. It was about two years before he would marry Regina, who became of age. So Cora really had planned all of this to some degree of precision. And all the while Rumple was waiting in the shadows.
