I agree, they should definitely have cut it off from OUAT. It's not really a continuation to me, the cast and characters and main storyline from the previous 6 seasons have changed completely. It feels like a point where OUAT watchers should be given the choice to leave or stay and watch this new spin off. To call it Season 7 and not have it return to the main cast ever again, and essentially be a completely different show but set in the same universe make me, irks me. If the actors all left, they should either end it nicely or start this new storyline separately.

Me too, but I want to give a chance to the show because even if there isn't the same cast (which I love, don't get me wrong) there are the same writers that wrote the first seasons and when I watched season 3-4-5 (not 6 because it was fantastic) I felt like it wasn't OUAT anymore, even with the same cast. Unpopular Opinion: The show honestly ended so perfectly and I don't see a reason to do another season! It's unnecessary and just kinda upsetting it can't end the way I believe it should have! However, this could have been really good! If they had saved this and waited YEARS to release a new season 7 as a surprise revival of the show, it would have been EPIC! It would have made more sense and not take away from what the show already was. Just my opinion! Even though I won't be watching season 7 I still have always loved the slow and I do wish it great success!!

This serie always felt like they were pushing the plot more and more because it was working financially, and I don't complain because it was still good nonetheless. Although now it's just way too far. I loved OUAT, this doesn't feel like it though.

I know right. The retreading thing is super stupid really, why would we ever need another Cinderella? It should be a spin-off. TBH, I wanted an OZ spin off with guest starring Lana Parilla as both Regina and her evil queen other character counterpart, return of the other three Witches, Mulan getting a happy ending, Malificient, Lily, and the dragon all meeting there and that storyline being tied up, and if Henry is older than perhaps so would be "baby Robin" and maybe they'd do some sort of "Son Of A Witch" type storyline like how they did with Zelena having similarities from the book "Wicked" but also from the original books and of course, the once twist of excellence. Rumple would only be in flashbacks, and Henry would be there to do exactly what this idea is about, to find his own story. And it's oz, so why not the teased Paul Bunyan from the book at the end of S5? Anything can in OZ. "ONce Upon A Time in Oz" is what we should've got. Instead were getting 'Once Upon A Time: Retread" except for Tiana so far.

+Hidden Assassin It does feel like a new show and I think that's the idea. The show needed it as it was recycling the same plots over and over and under using it's supporting cast. This new one is feeling more like a spin-off to me, rather than part of the main series but at least the original story is finished so we can have a nice cut-off point if this doesn't work. I'll give this new version until Xmas and then decide if I'll keep watching or call it a day.

So many people say that either season 7 is bad or season 7 looks bad because its just a 'replay of season 1' but I loved it so much. Despite the curse being similar to the season 1 curse, it's more detailed and they have to do more before breaking the curse. It's definitely different and worth watching. Please please please trust me on this that if you really really don't wanna watch season 7, atleast watch about the last 10 minutes of 7x22 because its the most amazing ending and so emotional and its so adorable and really a great series finale so atleast watch that if not the rest of season 7!

I think we should watch the first episode or two before we form our own opinions here. (You don't HAVE to watch it, but I think we should try it out) Some people will like it, and others won't. And that's ok because we all have our own preferences. But I think that we should go into this with an open mind. Because you'll never know unless you try it. The ONLY WAY TO MAKE THIS WORK is to make this reboot extremely DARK. Like it needs to become a lot less of what OUAT was and become more gritty, unground, niche, kinda like the MARVEL NETFLIX SHOWS like jessica jones, daredevil. thats how its gonna do well

All that and much longer brutal fight scenes. No more cat fights, tossing people into a wall knocking them out. etc. Long, drawn out battles akin to anime style and good characters not living and Dr. Facilier doing some serious damage, given Tiana will be present in S7. Dive into how he even got to where he was with his friends from the other side, not just how it ended. Bring in Judge Claude Frollo, heck he's darker than Scar and if it was possible to do some kind of really creepy african storyline with Scar as a human as well as other lion king characters...not the goofy ones...they'd have something really good going on here. Right now all I see is total retreading and I only wanna see live-action "Princess And The Frog," which, tbh, prior the only good thing about the first half of Season 5 was the "Brave" storyline, so, quess I'll be watching regardless.

So let me get this straight.... The Evil Queen is bar tending.. Captain Hook is a cop.. Nope nope nope I tied the knot on season 6 !!! The ending was perfect and they summed up everything perfectly! Now there FORCING a new plot and recycling the first plot. Bruh I’m tired of the “I’m your daughter/ son” twist. If you give me another plot please try something fresh. The vibe during the first few seasons were... explainable but now I’m thinking they ran outta ideas. This is the show that thinks they can get away with GETTING RID IF THE MAIN CHARACTERS without expecting a riot. This isn’t a continuous story at all! It’s a re-make of the first season only with different characters and a different setting. The original really had personality with the original town and fairy tale characters from Disney. Im really disappointed. Now don’t get me wrong, I LOVE OUAT TO DEATH but let me suggest that you should skip this so the only ending you can remember is the beautiful ending on season 6.

What's sad is that most of the hate goes far beyond criticism. I've seen people going from compliments to insults and constant negativity in a flash because they don't see their favorites (enough). There are a lot of interrogations surrounding the "kinda reboot" but a lot of this seems unnecessary and not just frustration.

When I finished season 6 I saw some comments from people who were saying that season 7 doesn't worth and I stopped the series after season 6.After 2 years when I downloaded Tiktok I saw some scenes on edits from season 7 and then I started watching season 7 .All I can say is that season 7 is so underrated especially because of Jennifer who left the show but the writers proved that the whole show is not around Emma . Season 7 worths it.

I would recommend everyone to finish this series as it is intended. Season 7 is great. Many good moments, witty lines, and moments showing actors' acting chops. They ended it way better than GOT even all the cheesy scenes as expected from a show like this. Characters were consistent; they showed heart and effort and were sweet. It was a goodbye pretty well-done.

sadlobster1 You know if this is the final season here's how I would like to see it if the curse last through both halves of the season I say they should break the curse on Episode 20 and for the finale we do "A Twist In Time!" As Lady Tremaine who was screwed outta her happiness snatches or had a wand from the start well either way she and Drizella turned back the clock and try to prevent Cinderella's Happy Ending but all of a sudden Lucy, Regina, Hook and Rumple get caught in the middle of their time loop and must find a way to keep Lady Tremaine from winning the day then defeat her in the past so they were never sent to Seattle at all!

Big part of the cast gone, FRIDAY NIGHT DEATH LOT, yep, the show is probably going to get cancelled, thank you ABC! OUAT should have ended in Season 6, but no, ABC had to suck the cow dry. I also blame creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz for not having the dignity to say no, all shows should have an end date instead of overstaying their welcome, quality is more important than quantity.
