For a Tier5 the gun is good, it shoots nearly every time where you aim.

fact: this tank got released in 8.9 and haven't received any buffs since then, so you are playing a tank from 2013 in 2022

Also this tank has a smaller turret than standard Chi Nu so the gun depression is only -6 instead of -10 like the Chi Nu

other fact on turret: the techtree has only 50mm of armor on turret front, the premium 75mm. but this does not make any difference when you get hit by shells with a 110mm+ pen from other 75mm guns on tier 5. even the tier 4 75mm guns with 90 to110mm pen do not need gold ammo on you when hull down

I still remember way back in the day there was a bug that made the tank look as if it where chromed. This was way back in late 2013 or so.

Can't really say anything about the Chi-Nu Kai because I don't have it but there is one very important difference between this and the tech tree version. The premium version has only 6.5° of gun depression whereas the tech tree variant has 10°. Overall I really enjoyed my time grinding through the t5 and t6 Japanese meds and I kept them after I finished the grind to take them out for a battle every now and then.

I got this tank when it first came out, and it was a reasonably good tank, quite enjoyable to play, though I haven't played it for some time now. Looks like it got left behind with power creep.

I am pretty sure this was a reward tank for a series of missions, when it went into the game in 2015. For some unknown reason I got 71% wins in 42 games with Chi-Nu Kai even though I am a regular shmo :))

Great vid Skill. I've been playing my Chi-Nu Kai again and its definitely powercrept. It really needs -10 degrees of gun depression like the tech tree Chi-Nu.

Hi Skill, great battles. Yes, you are right with saying ChiNuKai is not worth buying. I actaully like ChiNu even it is not the best tank in WoT too. When comparing stats of an elite ChiNu and ChiNuKai you can see the techtree is even better in some point. What is good on ChiNu and ChiNuKai: the gun is one oft the better 75mm in tier 5 with good penetration, damage per shot, dpm and accuracy. Not top in any of the points but a mostly a better than average. And the slow speed of the tank helps to play it correct - as a second line sniper

The Chi Nu was my favo tank back in the day when I still played this game. Got 2 marks on it, and I was a bad player.

Interesting, you and all the other KZbinr's say this tank isn't very good. I'm a BELOW average player. I played WOT years ago and got frustrated and quit. I just started playing again a few weeks ago. So, I bought the 46 Tank Starter Pack and off a whim I bought the Chi-Nu Kai. Out of the 47 Premium tanks, IMO the Kai is a BEAST and the best of those premiums for it's tier!! Yes the armor isn't great but the gun is BOSS level and it seldom misses. I don't know if the Kai has been buffed since your review but man this thing 2 shots tier VI's and I'm not a player that knows the weak spots on tanks. I just aim and shoot. Also it's a credit making machine even when I get destroyed. Hell, I played I think it's called Glacier and I accidentally drowned myself at the very beginning. I still made credits.

I think you should adjust the rating to playable. This tank has the second best WN8 for me, and I'm not a good player. :D No doubt, it is not a good tank by any means, but not terrible either. For free, it was a deal.
