75mph and above is hurricane force on our beaufort wind scale here in britain, strictly speaking, even though our storms may be hurricane force they arent actually called hurricanes as they are not of tropical origin, if that makes sense.

Timothy Harper Yes, the birds had blasted off the water just before the tree started falling down, they heard crackling, I think.
