Trouble is no one wanted to box him in the amateurs. If an opponent found out who they were boxing they’d pull out, even in national and international tournaments. He basically had no other option. He’s from my area but didn’t box at my club although we did have him over for sparring

What was the ref doing at 2.07 remaining in the round 0.53 on the video. Itauma had him badly hurt. Either stop it or get out the way so he can end it. The eventual stoppage looked poor because of the refs inability referee it properly.

Considering KO's are an occupational hazard and at any time a man can take a knee, it is puzzling why refs jump in to save some guys. If he's KO'd on his feet, completely understandable, but otherwise I dunno. Like what was 0:53? He just interrupted the combo like the guy isn't allowed to get slumped, but when it's big name heavyweight, they're allowed to take *all* the head trauma and still get an 8 count 😅

The guys 19 and been a pro for a year. No reason to rush him into dangerous fights. Theyre not going to put him in with anyone risky for years yet. As far as the early stoppage goes.
