“Stop talking and start chalking!” Thanks for the shout out on my sound boards. Your stock one sounds great! This machine used the same background as Mr Mrs Pac-Man and the voices are from Eight Ball Deluxe.

Great instructional video. I’ve been battling my Eight Ball Champ sound and voice situation for 15years now. This is the first DIY video for this machine I’ve seen. 😃👍

If I ever got my s together on my channel, I would definitely borrow from this channel. Especially how he always says the opening line so consistently: "Ladies and gentlemen, this is Joe's-- Classic Videogames-- with a Cool _____ for ya this Evening.". That's brilliant.
@LyonsArcade2 жыл бұрын
Since you've noticed it, I do that deliberately. I stole the "ladies and Gentlemen" part from Paul Heyman, a pro wrestling manager who's one of the best 'talkers' ever in wrestling. And I don't want to do an opening to the video because people hate watching intros, so I just do it while i'm actually showing what we're working on so we get right to the action :) Works for me!

Ronnie's laugh and humour remind me of Hawkeye Pierce( Alan Alda) from M.A.S.H..maybe I'm the only one who's noticed that..or am I?...hmmm 😉

@@LyonsArcade -- I get you. On a few of those types of channels, I fast-forward past the opening theme. One such channel I was watching, I watched even less, when the presenter was wearing a shirt with a message suggesting a stand on a moral issue that I don't support. I made a comment in the comments, and other viewers went after me. "Oh, it is just about a charity for those who are suffering with [a certain disease that is overwhelmingly self-inflicted]."

Sometimes people will put a capacitor in parallel with with a faulty one to try and fix it. That is really bad as faulty electrolytics can oftenshort, so it is a really high risk thing to do. Best to do what you plan and replace them with caps of the origninal ratings. This really does look like a lot of fun. Much more fun than the earlier ones :)

The coil your showing at the 4:56 mark might have a bad/week solder connection on the left wire. You can see through the hole where the wire attaches to the coil. But it could also be just how it comes across in the video

Look like melted shellac to me on that old sleeve. I'd pay the extra money for a new coil. Just an FYI, audio potentiometers usually have a shaft for adjustment. Also designed to pass signals in human hearing range.

The op-amp chips on this board are not critical. Many different part numbers can be used. Any good op-amp will work since it's audio frequencies.

I've been watching your videos for a few years now and one thing drives me crazy. Everytime you are messing with circuit boards you are dragging them across your wooden countertop and it makes the most horrendous sound. It's also scratching the hell out of your countertop (as noticed in other videos). For the sake of all of our ears can you use foam or some kind of mat? LOVE the videos though, thanks for all you do for the hobby
