There is no feeling quite like discovering an unfolding disaster, and then tracking down a chain of cascading failures across the colony all the way back to a single miscalculation. Absolutely brilliant how much chaos one little critter can cause.

If the polluted water run from the carbon skimmers is too much spaghetti, just drop the polluted water into the brick. The water will flash and you can move polluted dirt out via rails, different kind of spaghetti.

For the Chlorine vent: You may have already solved it, but if you make a liquid lock set-up below it, prepared to ladder up into it, then pump a fair bit of salt water out (Just free up one tile for the salt water to fall into), you can get in from the bottom and then go in and mop whatever is left. Then you can push or destroy the chlorine back in after.

solution for the oil well can be achieved by constructing a line of air tile from top to bottom on the left side parallel to the wall from the inside so gas has always where to move. Or you could build the air tiles on the outside then another layer of insulated so to extend the left side then deconstruct the current wall.

Echo, if you're running mods. There is an air lock door that requires power. If not then powered mechanical doors and duplicate checkpoint with a atmo and hydro sensor connected to an "and" gate so that the checkpoint won't let dupes through until that room is a vacuum and absent of liquid.

If you go into the chlorine vent from the bottom the brine shouldn't get in due to the amount of pressure in there relative to the pressure of the brine. I don't think the chlorine will be able to push itself out, considering my liquid lock of 300g of naphtha held back 20 kg of O2. You'll just need to stairway up into it.

For the chlorine vent if you build in 1 tile diagonally from the bottom left corner you can repair the damage tile without releasing the chlorine gas. This will still have the chlorine vent as an infinite gas storage. As far as getting in and removing the salt water you could use a multi-liquid liquid lock (using air tiles for the physical tiles except for where it connects to the chlorine vent). If using the inverted triangle liquid lock and use crude oil the salt water shouldn't be able to push it out of the way. I would double check this in sandbox mode though. This should allow you to remove the salt water from in it. For submerged liquid vents I would recommend surround it with air tiles. For submerged gas vents I would surround it with 2 layers of regular tiles.
@shakenbear4549
@shakenbear4549 2 ай бұрын
For the submerged vents I would corner building to not have to deal with flooding and just try to ignore the lost igneous rock. If you want to recover the igneous rock I would use the multi-liquid liquid lock again.

Could you do a series of powered mechanized airlocks, like 5 in a row for safety next to each other, with tiles above and below, that only allow 1 dupe through at a time to make a crusher lock? It should behave like a gas crusher as the 1 dupe walks between the airlocks, preventing more water from getting in your chlorine chamber, at worst a small blob may follow. this assumes you can crush liquid like you can crush gas.
