All the best on walk great video, can attest some of the John o'Groats trail is fun to say the least, I just hit the road at certain points lol. You bumped in to my mate who was nearly finishing, Paul the Hiking Ginger. We became friends in 2023 whilst I was doing my LEJOG, he then walked my exact route this year.

Paul is so lovely! I was thankful to get to Inverness tbh after that trail. I've now finished Great Glen and will be making my way to West Highland Way.

@@LeahInWanderlust Yes he is, we spoke every day on his walk, I was his eye in the sky making changes to route where needed booking hotels etc his concierge lol Yes agree the JoGT not great, I bailed in a few places lol GG is a nice walk and WHW will be busy, you'll meet lots of people, totally different atmosphere to what you've done so far. Keep putting one foot in front of the other and you'll soon be down here :) BTW i'm in Taunton near the end.

I'm not doing all of West Highland Way but gonna be doing half of it and then heading onto different trail to make way over to Edinburgh.

@@DarlyB Saddens me to see someone describing the JOGT as 'not great' - probably a bit subjective, as a 74-year old man just walked it with "no problems at all". Worth pointing out that the JOGT is one of the newest trails on the scene, and has so far been operating without major involvement from Highland Council / Scottish Government - so whilst there is work to be done, it's not fair to compare it to the other, well-established walks.

I also find this comment not very professional tbh. There are moments on the trail where it isn't safe during certain weather conditions and also completely overgrown. I have no doubt that once work has gone into it overtime, it will be a great walk but from walking it June 2024 it doesn't make my favourite list purely due to safety. Coming from the 36 year old female who had problems.
