One Day In Jasper and Hinton

I had one day to ride some trails in Jasper and Hinton, Alberta. After some quality time with Trailforks, I found a few rad climbs, descents and views. Throw in an unofficial riding spot that I've wanted to hit for years, an encounter with an elk and some flow trails in Hinton, and you've got yourself a good day of riding.

Laps of Flowmaster are good times! My park favs this year have been Rock Band, Vigilante and Stinger. The legs are always burning after a day at HBP! Though I have not done if this year yet, Froehler's at the Nordic Center is the classic in the area IMO. In the day, it was the Alberta Cup track for Hinton but now is perfect for a bike like the Reign.

Great video. I have ridden Jasper and not Hinton. Valemount is a great place to ride if you are ever up that way again.

A few recommendations, either the Banff legacy trail or the Columbia ice fields trail. With the ice fields though, I recommend you start at the lake Louis entrance rather than the jasper entrance

Jasper is amazing! My favourite place to ride for sure! So many amazing trails of all kids there. You definitely need someone to show you the best trails! Star Wars is fun, but if you saw horse poop on the trail, you likely got off the actual Star Wars trail. The horsey trails can get pretty bad (bumpy) in the summers.We spend lots of time there in the summers and can ride any time. Send a message if you want a guide or some suggestions of good trails to ride if you are solo.

It is! Jasper is super chill and laid back. Next time I'm there with some other riders I'll hit up the rocky, technical stuff on the other side of town.

I used to mountain bike when I was younger and watching u inspires me to do it again. I've been erging to do it. And I want to make videos on riding some trails. How do u get ur camera so still. Also one last thing, the closest trail near me is actually a part where they filmed Indiana Jones. Keep those videos

Yo if you're ever in Jasper again, you got to hit the trails old man, RJ's and water tower. They're all pretty sweet downhill trails. Old man and RJ's aren't on trail forks though.

Hey Loam, what're you riding these days? Picking up a new bike this year, 5k or so budget. Leaning towards a remedy 8 or a stumpy. Open to suggestions :) I am a reasonably aggressive trail rider like yourself

For an aggressive trail bike around $5k, I’d look into a Pole Evolink. They’re one of our sponsors, but I do truly think they’ve got the best all-around bike out there right now. But really, in 2019, you can’t go wrong with any brand.

It's in the works. If you're looking for a do-everything bike, it's a great option. Easily the best parts spec in the price range. Hopefully I'll have the full review out sooner than later! Also, keep in mind that Giant will be bringing out an all new Reign this fall, so if you can wait, you can get the new one or snag an even better deal on a 2017. Either way, it's a great bike as it is. Cheers man.

The man is dead on with the reign I got the sx this spring and it does everything. Shuttles, couch assisted gravity riding, chasing the kids around the block. Not the most efficient peddling bike ever but it'll get ya there. Then when it does it's a blast going downhill on. And for spec on just about any of reigns you won't find much for the price for what you get for parts on it. The equivalent norco is about 500 bucks less yet spec'd a whole group set down and I got fox dhx and 36's up front instead of the low end rock shock line up. Even if you hate giants it's hard to argue with price tag with parts they spec their bikes out with. Even this years lower end glory carbon model is highway robbery

Haha yup still a vegan. "Vegetarian" sounds funnier to me though... You probably won't hear me mention either on this channel other than for that nervous joke. Gotta keep it about bikes and not green smoothies ;) The trusty 4Runner is for sale. We finally bought a new vehicle with more seats last week, so it'll be officially up for sale in the next few days. I'll be sad to see it go!
