Rothenburg ob der Tauber is a town in the district of Ansbach of Mittelfranken (Middle Franconia), the Franconia region of Bavaria, Germany. It is well known for its well-preserved medieval old town, a destination for tourists from around the world. It is part of the popular Romantic Road through southern Germany.

Hi, I hardly ever use preset LUTs in my videos. I use several colour grading functions that are included in FCPX. For reasons of storage space, I had to delete the project for Rothenburg ob der Tauber from FCPX a long time ago, so unfortunately I no longer know which settings I used back then. Today, I would process the shots from Rothenburg ob der Tauber differently; from today's perspective, I think I emphasised the colours a little too much back then. This place was used as a backcloth scene for Cinderella at The Swan Theatre Worcester back in 2016 and I have used it since in many shows I have done at home. I can't believe this is actually a real place. It will be like stepping into an actual panto.😂😂

Thank you very much for your comment! It's fascinating to hear that Rothenburg ob der Tauber was used as the setting for "Cinderella" at the Swan Theatre in Worcester. I didn't know that yet. There really is something fairytale-like about the town that makes it perfect for such productions. Yes, it really is a real place and a visit there really does feel like stepping into a living fairy tale. I hope you have the opportunity to experience it for yourself! 🌟😊

We are all lucky, that USA & England air force have forgotten or missed and didn't bombard and ruin this precious town, the architecture of Rothenburg (as they did with Heilbronn, Dresden, Hamburg & many other cities of Germany, bombardind and ruining its old architecture)

Actually, about 40% of Rothenburg was bombed in the war - almost all of the houses in the eastern portion of the old town were in fact rebuilt after WWII. Luckily though, most of the main landmarks and the western side of town survived unscathed.

On the 31th of March 1945, Eastern, American Airforce destroyed many of old houses, walls, towers and the town hall. It ment a lot of efforts to reconstruct old archtitecture to show this excellent picture we have today. I have been living inside town for 41 years and still love it.

@@Polydeukes08 how lucky you are. This has been a stop for my family for years. My family is majority German. Only now can we look back at what was lost and just be thankful it wasn’t worse. It could of been worse. If the US had decided to use the atomic weapons in Europe as first discussed this would have been unrecoverable. Only after US troops marched thru Germany, with the average GI having no clue what they were fighting for, did some of them realize they were attacking their own ancestors and current family! It makes me so sad to see the destruction. But the recovery softens the loss. Rothenburg is a prime example. Congrats on your residence. It’s truly Hamlet-like.
