One Day In Skipton, North Yorkshire | Skipton Castle, Market, Woods & Canal

Skipton is a lively market town in North Yorkshire that sits just south of the Yorkshire Dales national park, and is often referred to as the gateway to the yorkshire dales.
Skipton frequently appears on lists of happiest places to live in the UK AND did actually hold the title in 2017; however if you’re not ready to up sticks and move to North Yorkshire then Skipton is still a fantastic place to go for a day trip.
In this video we will share a suggested itinerary based on our own recent day out. We will show you Skipton Castle, Skipton market, Holy Trinity Church, Skipton Castle Woods and what you can do around the canal.

We have our very first visit there in the summer after we had visited Malham Cove in the morning. We had limited time there but absolutely loved it there so will be back for an extended visit. The castle looked great and we caught the back end of the market when we were there. Loved the little walk in the woods and we walked over that bridge and saw the canal boats, so will be going on a boat trip there nest visit, cheers Alan

Hey guys, this is a great overview of what to do in Skipton. How cool that the market has been going on in that area for hundreds of years! Castle Woods are looked like a pretty place to explore. I would sure want to go find those huge sculptures 😊

We were in the dales last year but didn't get to visit Skipton. We are going again in August this yeay we are and staying at the Hotel Rendezvous alongside the canal just over a mile away from the centre, so a nice easy easy walk into the town - if the weather is ok. This has been a good video which has pretty much planned a day in Skipton for us, thank you.

We go to Skipton at least once a week . If you visit the castle ( a bit expensive for for whats on offer) make sure its not a school holiday.

There are three butchers that specialise in pies in the town. Stanforth's, the one you mentioned, is the third best.
